So underwhelmed bordering on distaste and disappointment
Service started well then nose dived - asked for a second bottle of wine 3 times
Eventually it came after the meal
Food was average at best - bordering on sloppy
The view was amazing
The...hype ..... way to high
It wasn’t busy there was no excuse we were ignored for the most part
Could have been a bad night and ‘island life’ doesn’t factor
It was pretty crappyMore
Our wonderful local guide Martin Hey of Maururu Travel recommended this ocean-side restaurant. So did Veronica the brilliant receptionist at Hare Nua boutique Hotel. So we knew it would be good. And it was so perfect we came here two nights in a row. First...meal was a stir fry of fresh fish and vegetables in coconut milk on a platter to share. So tasty we had to force ourselves to order something different the next night- Tuna on a bed of mashed local tubers. Both equally wonderful to look at and taste.
I should add that the service was timely but unhurried and we dallied over the coffee looking out at the ocean breakers. Two meals we won’t forget.More
We’ve been here several times and the food and ambiance have never let us down. We always ordered a different dish and everything was really good! One of the owners ‘René’ is a really good cocktailshaker! Price/quality is perfect. Would definitely recommend everyone to go...here.More
Dear Te Moana,
I have come by your restaurant this afternoon and asked to see the menu. The bartender, who also told me that she’s the owner, picked up an ice that landed on her hand and I commented that hey, that ice is contaminated...and maybe you should remove and not serve the ice to a customer.
But she started being really defensive and then offensive, asking me to leave the restaurant and then started to argue with me saying I’ve a very bad attitude for pointing out that she shouldn’t put the ice back into the cup for a customer to drink. She was horribly rude and I said she is rude af. She then came out as I was walking out, SHOUTING and called me a f#¥%*king female dog along with some choice profanities for not keeping quiet about her terrible attitude or for standing up for myself.
I am very Glad that I didn’t have the chance to eat at such an establishment where the owner is such a horrid person. Unbelievable. Gives a bad name to this island.More
We had a delightful evening at Te Moana. The waitress was friendly and had excellent English. The seafood platter was delicious and plentiful. We ended up grazing on that with some other sides and skipped the main course. Good wine selection too.
Good food and varied menu with some special preparations not found in other restaurants . Great service with waiter (Jorge) very knowledgeable about the preparations and ingredients . On top of that great view of the sunset
As with most places with a view, that’s what you are paying for. The food was average with cerviche and grilled fish on offer as standard in most places. Expensive as is the case for most places on this island.
