Great food in a nice setting on a small side street. Good service and prices reasonable. Upstairs seating with a view over small harbour.

We have been to El Cotillo many, many times over the last 20 years. We always eat out in the evening, usually ordering local dishes. We had not been to El Callao before. Quite simply, my Galician style octopus was the best octopus I’ve ever...eaten. My partner felt the same way about the grilled octopus. Our friend had the seafood casserole which she thought was superb. Absolutely love our experience at El Callao!More

Super place to eat, very friendly and the food was perfect. You can sit outside by the sea or inside upstairs with a great view.

We had our last tapas this winter holiday on the harbour patio of this restaurant. No bad at all, tasty prawns with octopus and mushrooms! Must go back next year.

Wife enjoyed her salad. Sadly my chicken cordon blue was raw underneath. Also served with veg and not rice as per the menu. Just hoping it doesn’t give me a really bad night. The waiter was most apapologetic. I don’t like giving such negative reviews...and probably wouldn’t had a manager or the chef bothered to come out to apologise.More

My husband had the grilled octopus which was amazing, but my meal was a catastrophe. I had the shrimp and octopus casserole with mushrooms. They didn’t even bother to devein the shrimp, which is just plain gross. I asked one waiter about it, and he...said that it is normal and walked away. I toldthe 2 nd waiter, who was very kind, and he offered to make a new dish without the shrimp. It arrived again, this time swimmi g in water. I was hungry so i ate it begrudgingly. We also ordered garlic bread and a tomato, tuna and a ocado salad. The garlic was so intense it wasbitter and burning. The tuna was really hard and overcooked. One plus point, the sangria was really good. We decided to split a dessert and ordered a flan, that saved the day.More

We have eaten here twice and both times it was delicious. The staff are very helpful and courteous. The decor is crisp and clean. We have eaten in both times as a little chilly for us so didn’t get the sea view which would be...superb in the warmer nightsMore

The service is attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent. The fish was very fresh, and there is a wide choice but not too much on the menu. Also, they possibly serve the best mojitos on the island. Even the music selection wasgreat

We were on a trip to the island from Lanzarote and stopped by here for lunch. We were the only guests inside. Another couple came in but left twenty minutes later as no one took their order. We ordered and my partner had the sole...which he said was lovely. A family came in and then another two couples. After ten minutes we asked where my meal was, they must have forgotten because the family were served and another couple before I got mine, by this time my partner had finished his meal! I mentioned this and the waiter just shrugged his shoulders. As we were conscious of time I had to leave my meal half eaten to get back. There are plenty of other restaurants here to choose from so avoid this one! They don’t deserve tourist customers.More

Dinner with a view on the old harbor of el Cotillo, this restaurant certainly has the beauty of its position on its side. Unfortunately it's a different story for food and service: acceptable fish soup and Gambas were followed by a poor and hard-to-digest pulpo...a la Gallega, an old tuna based tataki and a weird pulpo a la plancha. On the same vibe, service was over the top arrogant and pushy. We hope it was a bad evening and we are sure this restaurant will find the way to exploit all the potential and beauty of el Cotillo and its traditional cusine!More

Sorry for my late answer. You've probably found out by yourself already, but as I recall the dish was around or a bit over 30 € and impossibly large and gorgeous. We couldn't finish it, had to leave half of it uneaten. Bye!
