Stumbled on this wee place while visiting the village. Wonderful typical Spanish food cooked over the counter by the hosts - large and tasty portions, though the poor mans potato might take time to get used too. Great atmosphere - we were the only non-locals...in the place but plenty locals dropping into the bar while we were there. I noted a previous comment about slowness of service - this is rural Spain, get used to it!More

After reading the reviews I expected something different, or probably better. The restaurant itself is rustic and has a certain local charm but for some reason I didn't feel totally comfortable. Maybe it was because the service was slow, the waitress seemed new to the...role and she kept her coat on at all times, which seemed strange. The food itself was fine. The only thing that stood out was the chocolate in the salad - jury still out on that one. Maybe we visited them on a bad day or I was not inspired. I would go back to give it another try but...not in any great hurry.More

We took daily menu for 9eur and it was really great! Home made food, big portions and tasty. Muchos gracias!

Such a great restaurant! We had a couple of seriously cold beers (which came with free tapas) followed by a super tasty dinner of wood fired oven rabbit and pork loin accompanied with patatas a la pobre. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's really good...value for money!More

Some things in Spain never change, and this restaurant is a good example. They're probably serving pretty much what the cook's grandmother used to make -- simple and authentic dishes, good traditional home-style cooking and local ingredients. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the...value is exceptional. You really couldn't ask for more.More

We have often had a drink here and eaten lunch after a walk in the Alpujarra. The menu del dia is very reasonably priced (€9 recently) and probably the best option - the food is simple but good quality. Occasionally they seem to serve their...own produce, and certainly there is a sense of the local in what they cook. Drinks come with excellent and varied tapas. The service is efficient and very pleasant. Highly recommended.More

Great homemade food at a very reasonable price. We had the chickpea stew and gazpacho to start and both were excellent. My main course was pork chop "chuleta" which was cooked on the charcoal fire. Lovely. The meatballs were also very tasty. Nice familiar feel...to the place, no frills just good down to earth service and good quality cooking.More

We had noticed that this restaurant/bar was popular with Spanish families and so early one evening we decided to try their 9 Euro menu. I had garlic soup (with a whole egg), poor man's potatoes, a flan with delicious home-made jam, and a coffee. Maggie...asked for gazpacho soup, and although this wasn't on the menu, it was served - after the cook had been called across from her home. The food was tasty and filling and very good value. We also had a beer and a glass of house red - these came to 9.60 euros, so not such good value. But I think this place is a good recommendation and would eat there again. Their own Costa wine looks better value.More
