We visited the Isle of Wight all the way from Texas, USA, and were taken to this Inn on two separate occasions for lunch. Both times the food was excellent and the service was pleasant and helpful. The second time ,though, we had the freshly caught Hake and chips and, quite honestly, it was the best fish and chips I've... More

Went in on a quiet Wednesday lunchtime to be greeted by a friendly bubbly barmaid. Ok the decor may not be to everyone's liking but don't be put off by it! We were handed a menu that has a good selection of local foods and varying portion sizes. My partner had the fish goujons, she said they were very nice... More

We've been to The Pilot many times over the years and the formula clearly works as it's always busy and the staff are very attentive. Just feel it needs something new. The menu has hardly changed in 8 years. I'll definitely be going back for the beer and the friendliness though.

Thank you for your review, glad you liked it. I took over 5 and a half years ago and completely changed the pub, menu, everything really and then we have had 4 menu changes per year and then at the start of this year Richard, a dynamic young chef, took over and completely changed the menu and has tweaked it... We reached the Pilot Boat early in the afternoon after a long walk on a hot day. We ordered drinks, then a lunch. The bar staff was friendly and provided some useful information on what Bembridge had to offer. We ordered a ploughmans to share - it came with generous portions of cheese, ham and the usual trimmings and filled... More

One of the more unusual looking pubs you're likely to come across on the coastal path and right on the road, it sells decent beer and has a nice relaxed atmosphere . It's style is entirely in keeping with the setting of a working harbour.

We visited the pilot boat inn for a late lunch after a day out in Bembridge. The layout and size of the place is unassuming. The staff inside were very friendly, seating and service were quick on what was a quiet day. The food came out prompt and was tasty, I ordered a ploughman's lunch which was good, lots of... More

We stopped off here for a much needed drink on a walk around Bembridge on a very hot day with our 4 kids. The pub is situated on the main road through Bembridge. It's nice and modern inside but still retains a character in keeping with the area. The lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful and although we... More
