This was my first visit to this little gem of a place & certainly wont be my last. Just a few hundred yards away from the visitors centre up a small hill is the museum sleeping & dining cars. These are 1950's railway carriages now used as accommodation & restaurant. The dining car sits separately from the sleeping carriage which... More

We looked around the museum on the station platform, small but interesting. It gave the history of Mallaig to Fort William train line. Contribution required. We booked for the Dining Car. Staff were tes friendly and welcoming. Really fun to sit in the old booths and enjoy the view across the valley. We had soup £4ish, toasted sandwiches and salad... More

Happened upon this place by accident as we were hiking to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Surprised to find they had gluten free bread and scones so my celiac 12-year-old had a lovely lunch. He was delighted. The rest of us enjoyed the soup and sandwiches as well. And the hike was wet but gorgeous.

A wonderful, archaic gem with marvelous period features, beautiful views and delicious food. Well worth a visit, but don't trust Google maps idea of where it is: it's really located right next to Glenfinnan station.

1950's style railway diner car with original seating and fixtures permanently sighted at the station. Great breakfasts! We had egg, bacon and black pudding sandwiches, tea and coffee for £13. Substantial and good value for money. Bonus was arrival of "The Jacobean" train pulled by a steam locomotive. If you like old railways this is the place to take breakfast!

We parked our car at the Station carpark & walked down to the Glenfinnan Viaduct visitor centre (15-20) min walk. We took the nature trail path back to the station which took us near the viaduct - perfect for pictures. The walk back was about 30 mins of rocky undulating pathway. We were lucky to get a table in the... More

Homemade soup and toasted sambo combo a winner. Very tasty and not a crumb left behind. it gets busy, so book ahead of time ore be prepared to wait a little at peak times. Great atmosphere! Perfect break after the walk from the visitors centre.

After visiting the viaduct I decided to have lunch in the dining car to pass the time of my returning train. The lovely people there persuaded me to go in and have some lunch. Petit cosy little place which packed an authentic, rustic design with the abandoned train carriage. I ordered a bottle of water and ginger cake which was... More

Different experience to eat in a dining car although felt it should have been moving! Went mid-morning for a snack before walking up to the viaduct viewing point and it was very nice and we managed to get parked that is a problem locally.
