We ate here 4 nights during our stay and the food was consistently delicious. It is located right next to the sandy beach and waves roll in beneath you. This restaurant wins hands down for all it offers in location, quality of food and the staff.....the staff are so friendly, helpful and super efficient and always remembered us each time we returned giving us a lovely welcome! The seafood is incredible and very reasonably priced, I loved the seafood risotto and seafood marinara, fried calamari and fried small fish. We only drank the local wine, and lots of it, it was really good. All in all a super place and we will be back!

This Place man. I am still in love with it.
It was the third evening and we had been trying out some restaurants before, comparing them with the restaurants in Corfu, which we visited last year. We were very unsatisfied until we discovered this beautiful little place right at the beach. The location is lovely, the staff is amazingly friendly (even the manager pretty much came to every table to ask if everything is fine) but let’s start from the beginning.
I ordered seafood risotto and my gf ordered tortellini a la crema. She liked her food, though it had mushrooms in it, which I ate.
The seafood risotto was just like a risotto has to be- slimey, juicy, stuffed with seafood and flavored with fresh herbs. I ordered a glass of red wine and while in Switzerland you‘d get a 1dl glass of wine, this was like 3dl AT LEAST. Amazing house wine for cheap money.
We were so full and satisfied but as beautiful as this place is, they kept it 100 and came up with some dessert and some ice cold raki, all on the house.
Our fourth day has passed and I am glad to say that we have another ten days to go and eat there at least three more times!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from a guy who loves food, travelling and good locations :)

Just love this restaurant, so much so, we returned four times. It’s situated on the beach and the setting is just perfect to watch the sun go down. The service, staff, quality of food and ambience is second to none. Delicious fresh fish, beautiful dips, chargrilled bread with local oils, stuffed courgette flowers, grilled wild mushrooms, Saganaki and Kleftiko were just some of their dishes we sampled. Everything tasted fresh and great portions. They were so generous with extra complimentary Carafes of wine, jugs of Raki, Greek style Creme brûlée’s and plates of fresh watermelon. Do not miss this little gem when in Kissamos.

This taverna ticks all boxes, after trying several ones. Not only the amazing view on Kissamos bay and typical Cretan food (which is common for most tavernas). The real pluses are the details: each plate comes well-served, with vegetables/fresh potatoes, tap water is served immediately as you are welcomed, you are not "tricked" with unwanted psomi (bread). Prices are very well reasonable, food quality is excellent: tried grilled fish, gemista, paidakia etc. Cretans eat here as well, so you know.
If you are not into be fooled with typical tourist tricks, try others first and then come here: you'll see what I talk about :) highly recommended and hard to change!

Excellent food with many choices in a very beautiful environment. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We chose to eat seafood and everything was very tasty in reasonable prices. The fish was fresh and the portions quite big. I am looking forward to my next dinner there..! I highly recommend this place!

Whilst staying in Kissamos, we chose Maria to have our last dinner in Crete. And let me tell you how happy we were for it and how miserable, simultaneously, as now all we can think about is when can we return again! The setting was simply beautiful, a candle lit table over the beach and the food....simply amazing! We had dolmadakis as starters, fried sardines and this unforgettable seafood spaghetti that I keep reminiscing about... For desert, we were gifted with raki, grapes and this amazing creme brulee. Everything was just perfect, including the cute little restaurant cat!! :)

A party of seven of us dined here twice during our week in Kissamos and thought it totally deserving of its high trip advisor rating.
I can vouch for the rabbit and sardine mains and others rated their mixed souvlaki and mixed grills from the meat options. The mixed grills were particularly enormous, especially the mixed grill for one. As with most restaurants in tourist locations in Crete not all the fish options on the menu are fresh and it is worth asking the head waiter which ones are. For our visits this included the tuna steaks which were also impressive in their size.
On both occasions we sat in the undercover beach side section rather than the indoor section and service levels were good.
On our second visit lamb chops and sardine mains with a glass of red wine and a bottle of the local Lyra craft beer came to 35 euros with tip and you cannot say fairer than that. Especially as it also came with complementary crème brûlée and a very nice pomegranate raki.

Arriving on holiday in Crete, we had dinner near the accommodation at the best seaside restaurant in Kissamos ... Maria Beach Restaurant. The assorted seafood platter for only 38 EURO for 2 people is enough to taste everything that is fresher in Crete, like seafood - yummy❤. We will definitely be back!

We got some recommendations of the owner and choosed the cretan salad as a starter which was really fresh, with traditional cheese we never had before, also a big portion enough for 2. Swordfish and seafood risotto were also one of the best we had so far. As a perfect complement we got raki and a panna cotta dessert+watermelon. Prices are more than fair. We can just recommend this place to everybody!

I have been traveling all over the world but one of the best restaurants I found in Kissamos, Crete.
It’s Maria Beach. The food is one of the best - try tzaziki, obergine dip, fish soup and a catch of the day. You will not be disappointed ordering Greek salad or Ambrosia salad as well! One of the best in Crete. And the nice supiese always come at the end - the desert you receive (some good selection of ice cream, pudding or watermelon) and rakia for your digestion.

We were coming back from Balos and we were looking for a nice restaurant around the area and google suggested Maria beach with 4.8 points so we went there and order some fried squid rings, some mushrooms with garlic and balsamic vinager, fried cheese with honey and garlic bread. Squid was stinking and we asked if they were frozen. The waiter said yes of course! It's marked with a bullet point in the menum That means it's frozen. Disappointing for a seaside restaurant. Cheese was okay. We've eaten better ones in other restaurants in Crete. We also didn't like the mushrooms that much, too little balsamic vinegar. They are nice people and very friendly. The prices were okay. The view is top notch in front of the sea. They offered as complimentary dessert which was a delicious panna cotta. Not even that took away the squid flavour of my mouth. A bit disappointed with the mark google has. I would say it's a 4.3

I have been coming to Maria Beach restaurant for 3 seasons, it is by far the best place to dine out in Kissamos.
The food is amazing, everything is fresh and so tasty, I've tried most things on the menu,and they have a range of different meals available, and im always amazed with the preparation and the flavor! The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I would highly recommend it!

We visited Crete several times, like Rethymno, love Chania but always prefer to stay in Kissamos. There you can find the best beach in Crete. Forget about Falasarna and Elafonisi.
We have eaten in plenty of places, but never found better one than Maria Beach Restaurant.
Fried Kefalograviera cheese with honey is my choice! Cretan salad - the same but better than everywhere else in Crete. Aubergine dip - haven in a mouth. Grilled sardines … never even eaten prepared in the same way. In COVID time we decided to visit Kissamos again. 2 weeks, 14 lunches and 14 diners - this year only in Maria Beach Restaurant (and bar nearby).

I would normally be unsure about eating at a seafront restaurant, expecting tourist standard food, however, this restaurant was beautiful. Gorgeous food, the best local red wine we’ve found in Crete and great service, highly recommended. Oh, and a fantastic view of the beach and Kissamos bay 👍👍👍

We preferred the teak terrace where the smiling and friendly boss takes great care of us.
The dishes are well presented at the right price/quality ratio for the beach context. As for quality, nothing to complain about.
Excellent homemade Boureki, Kleftico too, spinach risotto as well, orange salad, refreshing avocado, ...
Free dessert: fruit and vanilla cream
We ate there for 2 lunches.
Plus their beach beds are really comfortable.
