The location is great, 10 minutes drive from Elafonisi beach but it doesn't feel like you are in a sea place. It is surrounded by mountains and you can hear the animals in the background. The courtyard is very nicely decorated and well maintained and you can see small farm animals wandering around.
The quality of the food is amazing. Among the best lamb chops, mousaka and chicken souflaki tried in Crete and the price is so reasonable!
The garlic bread on the house is also delicious as well as the dessert and home made raki.
We were here 3 times! A great experience and highly recommended on your way to or from Elafonisi beach!

Traditional family tavern at its finest. Amaaaaazing place. Amazing food. Great hospitality and fair prices. The roasted bread with basil, olive oil and tomato 🍅 was on the house and it was delicious. We tried everything on the menu (except grilled meat) and everything was great. Totally recommended.

The best meal in the area by a distance, no question. Lovely family owned restaurant that provide fantastic service and provide traditional dishes that are truly exquisite at great prices.
We went after sunset and the view of the mountains quickly turned into a view of stars. Excellent location for dinner after a day at Elafonissi Beach.

Casually found after a whisper of other tourists, just asked to reserve "a nice table" for me and my wife, we found an awesome and unexpected surprise !!
I think I didn't told them but whas also a kind of anniversary for us and we couldn't have spent the evening in a better way.
I don't remember exactly what we choosen from the menu but we had a fantastic diner in a warm and nice atmosphere, the real greek ospitality, and I think the best cuisine we had during 15 days in Crete.
The location in just beautiful, in a garden with some animals around and they rent also an awesome apartment in a stone tower.
10 min from the beach.

This place is amazing, there are animals and birds all around the place, including a peacock. As others have mentioned, the outdoor area is an oasis of calm with flowers and hammocks. During our meal, some delinquent goats raided the place and ate a fair few flowers before being chased away! We had a very tasty dinner after a day on the beach at Elafonisi. It is run by a very friendly family and they catered for my coeliac daughter, who needs gluten-free options. Authentic Greek experience - excellent value for money.

Delicious food, amazing service and beautiful garden with tables around where You can eat. Very low prices and You have fresh bread with olive oil and watermelon with raki in this price. Love this place!!!

We ate lunch here last weekend after a morning at Elafonissi beach. It was one of the most delicious meals we had during our 10 days in Crete. It’s a very rustic and traditional taverna and we were made to feel very welcome and the service was excellent! Delicious garlic bread was served instead of the usual plain bread and we were given both watermelon and cake at the end of the meal, all complimentary.
Highly recommended!

Excellent food, friendly staff, good prices, lovely ambient…. Water,, garlic bread with tomato salsa and halva on the house.. The only downside was that there was garlic bread in the same basket that forks and there were only a couple of bread cubes on the salad, so gluten-intolerant people must be careful and probably aks in advance for gluten free food

Delicious, homemade food in generous portions, friendly hosts and a typical terrace, where there was no shortage of bedmothers D. Hen and D. Pata, with their respective descendants. These are some of the reasons why you can't miss this restaurant. All that's left to say is that it's really cheap and they also offered delicious garlic bread with tomato sauce, dessert with watermelon and a sweet and even the traditional raki

We had dinner at this family-run tavern on the way back from Elafonissi beach. Fantastic experience, superlative food. We ordered Tzatziki, mussaka and lamb with potatoes, the mussaka was the best I have ever eaten in Greece, the lamb tasty and cooked masterfully. As an appetizer they offered us some excellent bruschetta and at the end of the dinner, they always offered watermelon, semolina cake and raki, a typical local distillate. Everything was really excellent and the price was absolutely cheap, 29 euros for everything, including half a liter of wine and a little water. Highly recommended, it should be noted that there are farmyard animals scratching around the tables and for my wife who has a phobia of them it was a real test of courage but it was worth it.

Amazing place with beautiful atmosphere and perfect service. Food is cheap and tasty (tried musaka and boureki). Complimentary service includes kind of bruschetta and water before ordering and small bottle of raki at the end. Raki is really amazing here. Staff is really kind and responsive. There is genuine countryside feeling about this place - a lot of animals around - ducks, hens, turkeys, cats, peacock. Highly recommended.

Perfect spot for lunch/dinner on the way back from Elafonisi and Kedrodasos beach. It's on the main road, but it's very cosy. We had recommended house specials, chicken and eggplant and some wine, and everything was delicious. The service is great and the prices are very reasonable. I'd definitelly stop by again!

The best food I had on Crete was prepared and served at this family-run roadside taverna in the SW corner of the island. You should give them a try if you're passing by before or after a visit to Elafonisi or Kedradosos beach. Try lamb from the oven or baked aubergine/eggplant (bakłażan, as our Greek host declared in crisp Polish), or any item on the menu. You will not be disappointed.

This place captivated me from the first moment with its peaceful, warm and authentic atmosphere. The outdoor area with all the flowers, trees and hammocks here and there invites you to take a deep breath and relax. The lovely owner Costa showed us how to milk a goat and also the handmade local products (creams, honey, Raki, olive oil, etc.). The delicious yogurt with fresh fruit and local honey, topped with a freshly pressed orange juice, was the right start to the day for me! Taverna Stomio is definitely a must visit when you are on the west coast of Crete!

We had a very pleasant time at Stomio Tavern. It is a very chill place, even if the road going to Elafonissi is right next to their terrace. We received garlic bread with tomato home made sauce. I enjoyed the Most the Cretan salad and the fried zuckini. Excellent choice for our lunch! Five stars from us! 5* 🤩 Congratulation for the job you are doing 👏👏👏
