I love this place... It's got a nice patio and if you're there in the early spring you will be engulfed by orange blossoms. You can get a cold beer or some tequila, the food is not hefty, more like good snacks... It's nice for before or after a movie, or to take some friends to chat. Sometimes there's a... More

We really enjoyed this place. Food was good and service on the slow side. It gets crowded sometimes thus slow service. There is entertainment on weekend offering great music.

We had such a great evening! Although there was hardly anyone when we arrived around 7pm on a Friday evening, we decided to sit down on the attractive terrace. Just after ordering dinner, which tasted good, a couple of locals started preparing for their performance. Apparently, every Friday and Saturday are filled with small concerts by locals, and every other... More

This restaurant has excellent traditional Chihuahua food and the ambiance is amazing. In the evenings they have live trova music. While I was there, I heard a lady who has an amazing voice and then a group of Andes music. Arrive early to get space outside because the drinks, food, and music are so good that once someone gets a... More

Unlike other places that are far more expensive, this is the real thing!!! You will get regional specialties here and nicely cooked and presented. There's often live music too!

Every area in Mexico has developed their own type of cuisine over the years. This particular restaurant specializes in strictly Chihuahuan cuisine. When I say that they wrote the book on Chihuahuan cuisine I mean that they literally wrote the book; "Cocina Regional de Chuhuahua". Oh yeah for cheap thrills the guy there that looks like Don Quixote is Jesus... More

Calicanto is a great place to have a good Mexican beer, a tequila or a more local drink called sotol-- it is made from a different cactus than tequila; sotol is very tipical of Chihuahua and Calicanto has the best in stock-- I recommend Añejo-- aged-- Sotol Coyame. The menu is original with delicious popular northern dishes, well worth trying,... More
