We dined here by chance hoping to eat some Japanese omelette somewhere in niseko! Great service from friendly waiters and we soon found out it was cook your own! Not to worry as we were guided along and assisted when necessary. We had a plain and a prawn okonomyaki. The grill idea is super , an entertaining way to dine... More

For something a bit more casual and hands-on, Kabuki 1 can be a fun way to dine for the evening. Try your hand at cooking your own okonomiyaki. You can also cook your own noodle dish, but it isn't as fun as trying to get the okonomiyaki just right. You'll come away smelling like what you cooked, but that's not... More

Don't know who thought it was cheap to pay $25, but I guess it's people who haven't eaten okonomiyaki in other parts of Japan. It's a decent portion, but the staff are so careless the price is not worth it. Cooking the pancake yourself is meant to be the fun part, but they don't give you any instructions unless you... More

Even if you've never tried the Japanese style "pancake" that is Okonomyaki, odds are that you'll love this place just for the fun of cooking your own meal on the Teppan Plate in front of your friends!!!!! It can get quite warm in this place due to the Teppan's giving off heat, and not suitable if you have restless kids... More

The group we were travelling with LOVE okonomikayi so were excited to find a restaurant to try. From the outside Kabuki looks the goods and is also reasonably authentic inside. That's about where the fun stops. I was disappointed to be greeted by our Aussie waiter wearing a beanie with pom-pom (really!) and his dreadlocked Aussie offsider who seemed to... More

We dined at Kabuki after a friend recommended it. Our first impression here was that majority of the staff were not Japanese and didn't seem to care for anything. We were seated upstairs but no explanation was given about the menu. When we figured out our order, the waiter came took the order and left. We had to share a... More

There are two parts to this restaurant, the DIY side, and the Teppanyaki side. My main criticism of the whole place is that it is staffed by foreigners on workers visas, trying to sell an authentic Japanese experience. The DIY part is fun. Can make your own Japanese food. The teppanyaki side however, in the big tent, is a truly... More

First time I went to this restaurant was with my partner and her family. Great concept of creating your own dish which then ensures great atmosphere and good food. the service was fantastic, all the waiters were prompt and knowledgeable with them offering assistance as much as possible. As well as the only place in niseko that i could find... More

It was all great and as expected from this type of restaurant. Recommended to all and really fantastic self cooking experience, to choose between teppanyaki and okonomyiaki. Good value for money.

We enquired for one night and it was fully booked, which was hopefully an indication of it being good, so made a booking for another night. We each ordered the Teppanyake and it arrived with a portion of meat and a large handful of cabbage with a couple of strands of onion, carrot and the occasional slice of mushroom and... More
