Reasonably price and excellent food. Will come back again. Tasty wagyu beef, mushroom tempura, uni and pork shoulder fried rice. Highly recommended. I would say taste much better than those popular restaurants at the Grand Hirafu area.

TOMO was referred by a friend in Hong Kong who helped open the place back in Dec in Hirafu, and it did not disappoint. Chef Yohan and his team served us tasty and unpretentious dishes, using quality ingredients found locally. I dined with 2 other...friends and we were surprised by the sizes of the dish, that everything is big enough to be shared between the 3 of us. We also ordered whisky and gin cocktails, and grateful for the other shots we received, with compliments from the Chef. I would recommend the mushroom salad, fried fish, pumpkin udon and pork belly in particular. The chicken cordon bleu was slightly dry that evening but still very tasty. We were disappointed that the Wagyu beef fried rice was not available, but I guess it’s an excuse to go back next season! Not sure if you’re open for lunch, but I’d imagine the view of Mt Yotei would be spectacular! I also likes the fun end of roasting marshmallows at the end of the meal outside! Thanks again and more power to you guys! Chef Yohan, see you back in HK for a visit!More

Four of us dined at Tomo last week and throughly enjoyed our evening, The food was creative but not too fussy. Very tasty and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed a large bottle of sake which was also very good value. The service was professional and...friendly. The food came out at a good pace and we were treated to an unexpected complimentary ride back to Upper Hirafu at the end of our meal. We are regulars to Niseko and have tried many of the restaurants in the area, Tomo will be added to our list of favourites.More

An interesting European/Japanese fusion restaurant. Gives a bit of a different take on standard Japanese izakaya food. The massive-size karaage was great with a zesty twist. There's also a well-stocked bar with a good selection of drinks.

Great place to enjoy delicious food in a friendly and casual / cool atmosphere. The drink menu is impressive and the bartender - very friendly - will invite you to try some of his new creations. The food is sort of a mix between Japanese...and French cuisine - the two best cuisines in the world! All in all, this is a young restaurant with a super nice vibe. Everyone is young and passionate. Definitely recommended for all types of groups - friends, families, couples.More

Very cool new restaurant that just opened this season. Hip atmosphere and cool minimalist decor. Has a delicious menu (I loved the market fish nanban!), based on Japanese izakaya food with a *thoughtful* fusion twist (nothing pretentious). The service was very friendly and the drinks...were delightful. Good for dates, groups or even solo dining (at the bar). Will come again.More

If you like really overpriced 'Japanese' food, which has zero resemblance to actual Japanese food, served by clumsy American ski bums with no knowledge of the food they are serving or indeed how to serve food, in a small house on a cheap housing estate...miles from nowhere, this is the place for you! This is supposedly a 'modern Izakaya' *the Japanese version of tapas), but...no. It isn't. Come and enjoy the classic Japanese dish 'Chicken Cordon Bleu' but served up cleverly like a sushi roll! Do you enjoy getting served one tiny spoonful of highly mediocre food every 45 minutes, leaving you to fidget hungrily and eating your napkins in desperation whilst waiting for the next course, spending 4 hours to eat a total of 150 grams of food and then paying a fortune for it? This is the place for you! Really, guys. Seriousluy. I know Niseko is fast becoming the place where supposedly ignorant idiot tourists are quickly parted from their money, but if you're going to rip people off, at least be charming about it, like in Venice or Paris. Spending 4 hours in a plastic Daiwa house on the wrong side of nowehere for 4 hours, being served tiny morsels of food which are only slightly tastier than the food you buy at Lawson's, by ham-fisted millennial ski bums with braying California accents, is really not my idea of fun. Avoid at all costs.More

Great restaurant, exceptional staff, fantastic food. This restaurant is a couple of km out of Hirafu. Not walkable in winter. It’s worth the trip though. Nice new building with a drum fire outside. Staff are friendly and well organised. We were a group of 9...adults and 2 young children and they handled the service really well. The food is a sharing menu and was really delicious. We have good appetites and had lots of plates. The scallops were absolutely delicious we ordered another couple of plates. Every time we enjoyed a plate we ordered another and the waitstaff just adapted. The Lotus root salad and Soba salad were a real hit with the vegetarian in our group as well as the others. Beef cheek fried rice was nice too. Just a lovely meal. At the end of the meal you are given marshmallows on sticks to toast on the fire pit. The cost per person was about ¥5500 which is great value for a lovely quality restaurant. We only had a few beers, so you might need to add a little for more alcohol.More
