Good beers but the staff are kind of lazy. They spent a lot of time on their phones and talking to each other instead of serving customers. Not the service you’d expect in Japan.

French guys are keeping this bar in form! Very attractive bar. There is a very long drinking list and some tapas to be selected. The service was friendly and fast.
Had wanted to visit this bar all week and finally got a chance to drop in last night for my final night in Niseko. Certainly glad I did as the collection of local Hokkaido craft beers were delicious! Bartender Glen was a ripping guy happy...to chat about the beers (and anything and everything else!), plus give out little taste samplers. I didn't try the food but the menu looks nice. If you enjoy your craft beers and want a night off the Sapporo's, definitely head up to the Taproom. The Coriander Black and Brown Ale were my two favourites 🍻More
Small but cozy. Had some nice local beers. Looking forward to my next visit. Tried the half chicken which was roasted to perfection.
Heard some hype about this place and was very disappointed... The staff were annoying and incompetent, took us all in all about 2hours when we wanted just a quick bite! The staff got our orders wrong and completely forgot one of our orders.. in such...a small space with hardly anyone else in there it was actually just laughable.. the beer was flat, the food was salty and the portions were ridiculously small for the ridiculously high price.. they're profit margin on the fries must be insane.. id say I got about 15 individual fries for 900yen and they were too salty. And the gyozas were all stuck together. Dont waste your time and money when seicomart is next door where you can get better food and beer for 1/100th of the price. This is a cash grab restaurant with no morals and no respect for their trade. Zero stars!More
Dear Liam We are terribly disappointed to receive a review like this and am sorry for the experience you had. I have asked the team to review the operational concerns you mention. Our intention is not to be cheap - as you say Seicomart can...More
Small, very cool bar tucked into back of an upper floor of Odin Place - come here for great beers on tap - I personally loved the Niseko IPA! Nice Canadian guys running the place - gave us lots of good tips where to ski,...where to eat, etc. We will be back!More
Dear MagsD879 That is really great to hear and our team wil be deligthted to hear this great feedback. Yes, I love the IPA too. Please do come back and thanks again. Happy New Year. John
The Taproom offers a nice range of craft brews from around Japan- with a range of styles. I had a few good ones- with the North Island IPA and an excellent Black Coriander Ale which had good complexity. They serve snacks and small meals as...well. A nice option at the end of a long ski day.More
Dear bjnomads Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate it very much and hope to see you again! John
First off, this place is tiny, tucked off in the upper floor of a modern building at the main Hirafu intersection. The beer selection was amazing, and the prices quite reasonable by Japanese standards. I loved the smaller portion sizes, so I could try the...full tap range without revealing the bank. The menu consists of all Hokkaido beers, which were easily the best I had in Japan (and a welcome break from Sapporo classic). We visited twice, and on our second visit, we ended up eating there, as we hadn't reserved anywhere and walk-ins in Hirafu are impossible. The Taproom had a couple of free seats, and we were blown away by the food. The Japanese beef stew and meat pie were great, and included one of the best salads I've ever had. It was impressive what the chef could turn out from the microscopic kitchen space behind the counter.More
Dear Dave Thank you for the great review. I hope we can welcome you again for another break from Sapporo Classic! All best. John
The Chicken was much better than the Fish and chips, a nice pre dinner place excellent choice of beer, friendly owner and chef... should have a more extended menu.
Thanks for your review Henson_8. Yes, we wish we were a bit bigger! John
Reserved table for 7 for aprés ski food and drinks. Onion rings were delicious and the ribs were tasty. Pork was very tender and filling. Perfect after a calorie burning day on the slopes. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Thanks!
Thank you very much for the great review GobalJBird. We look forward to seeing you again! The Niseko Taproom
Had an amazing dinner and beers. I would say to try anything it all looks great. We had pork gyoza, garlic toast, pepper steak meat pie. All were amazing coming back tomorrow.
Thank you very much for the great review! We are delighted you had a great time and look forward to seeing you again. John
We went there and the Unic good thing was the beer, because they don’t do it, even don’t trough well... we order a few things and the first plate was the chicken, and later the octopus, and the salad...? Cook and waiter a bit lost,...and any Japanese dish we want, was not ready today... extrange...More

Ended up at Taproom after trying to get a table at a number of restaraunts & not disappointed. The food was some of the best, the Pepper Pie and Stew were just like home cooked meals, Beers were fantastic. A real friendly staff and the...part of the experience was having the patrons sitting at the bar handing us our meals and drinks with no qualms at all. It added to the pleasure of eating here.More

Great place for a relaxing beer and beautiful home cooking. The pepper pie, gyoza and spare ribs were all great. Food can be matched with a good range of local craft brews. This is all topped off with a lovely welcoming, family like atmosphere. We...will go back for sure.More
