Nice pub. Went on a Sunday and only had a Sunday lunch menu, so limited choice. Which did not suit everyone. Staff were good and helped to guide us a to a good table suitable for our party.

After a roast on Sunday - this is where to come. We've been twice in the last few weeks and sampled the roast beef and the shoulder of lamb to share. Yorkies are to die for too. Haven't had a chance to try the main menu but of its at the same standard as the roasts you're in for a... More

Visited with a few friends on my (fairly recent) birthday. The Ship was fairly busy but not too crowded for a Tuesday evening. There were about 9 or 10 of us altogether.

Stopped on the offchance that we might get a late afternoon lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Appeared very busy from the outside but actually had plenty of room inside. Very quaint building, and good to see it still in use as a pub after hundreds of years. Food was a lovely sunday lunch, well worth the money.

A pal of mine is always 'raving' about Fish chips and peas at the Ship Inn at Styal. So this weekend I drove up with my partner, I had cod with a chorizo and chick pea stew. It was lovely. Taking a pragmatic approach to life I new my partner wouldn't finish her Fish and Chips, leaving me to finish... More

I still can't quite believe the amazing transformation this neglected, rural pub underwent a few years ago. Unlike in the past, it is now a warm, friendly and attractive place to eat and/or drink. The spacious outdoor area at the rear, plus the smaller area at the front, massively increase its capacity. As ever, the service was first class; the... More

If you fancy a Sunday walk followed by a roast look no further! Whist busy, you don't have to wait long for a table ! The kids love it and as a veggie they do an amazing nut roast ! Salivating just thinking about it now !! Great traditional pub .
