Visited this restaurant on 28 Sept 2018.a wooden home converted in restaurant.food is authentic Czech.aubergine with sate veg and cheese was awesome.they serve in house made different bread.different type of homus. Feels like you are dining in your home.must visit while in prague

We visited this restaurant with a local friend. It was nice to go somewhere bit outside Prague and enjoy the nice green ambiance. The restaurant has a nice outside terrace and some fun stuff for the children (boat, trampoline, slides, etc). The food itself was...quite straightforward, as it was grilled or barbecued without too much add ons (spices). So this was ok. The personell appeared to be a bit absent, as it took a long time before we could order and no English menu’s were given for dessert with the request to our local friend to just translate for us. She, however, explained to us that there had been a wedding the evening before that had really exhausted the staff. So this might have been an exceptional situation. Consequently, I would recommend the accomodation, but dont have too high expectations from food or staff.More

Lunch for five on a gorgeous, warm day. The view from the sun-baked deck was fantastic. We had fun watching the ducks and fish swimming in the pond. The food was great but pretty pricey. The service was fine but the staff seemed to be...going through the motions, with no effort to make us feel welcome. When asked to open an umbrella to provide some shade the hostess/waitress simply declined with no explanation. No one came by to ask if we needed anything during lunch, and no one asked us if we were interested in anything else after lunch.More

I think we visited the restaurant approximately 10 times.. and every time we are more satisfied. The atmosphere is brilliant, friendly English speaking and child friendly staff and the food is just great.. precise and delicious . I recommend it!

We ended up here after exploring the surrounding area, the restaurant was quite full and there were only two waiters therefore service was super slow but the staff was really friendly. We only placed an order after waiting for 30 minutes which was a little...upsetting. However, the food was great. I think this place will be great for a dinner party, super cute and the lake and trees surrounding it is just perfect.More

An old Czech Restaurant, the walls of the old house are mud brick, hence the name which means that, literally. Set by a lake you can sit in or outside. The service is excellent, the food outstanding so don't expect (or ask for!) chips with...everything. A good wine list, many Czech speciality dishes, ideal for a business lunch of you want to impress or an evening to be romantic. If you are going with a party, plan ahead because the house speciality is to BBQ your choice of meats or cook over wood, sheep, beef baron, duck, pig or whatever, bought by the kilo weight and cooked to perfection. Good for parties of 20 or so, or just yourself, it makes no difference....I recommend the steak, medium rare means just that.....More

We used to go to this place quite often but I have to say we're done from today. The food is brilliant no doubt about that. This is one of the best restaurants in Prague. The bad thing is that the waiter asked for a...tip in cash while we wanted to pay by credit card. He asked the very unproffessional way standing there and asking everone around the table if we had any cash....More

Remarkable building built from mud bricks (hence the name). Very pretty setting nestled next to a fish pond with a large children's play area. Very popular with local families at the weekend. Service is friendly, flexible and tries to speak English (the local area is...quite popular with expat families). Food was a mixed bag. We had good monkfish with decent grilled vegetables, slightly overcooked salmon with well cooked rice and a sloppy, floppy lasagne made almost entirely from pasta and bechamel. The high point was the home made bread at the start, really tasty, crispy and fresh. The low point was being charged 40kc for tap water. We ordered many other drinks, so do you really need to charge us for that?More

We visited Hlinena Basta in May 2017 again and we could not be happier. Friendly atmosphere, great service, outside patio was inviting us to sit down and look at the sunset. The presentation of our meal was perfect! All our food was tasty and we...did not left much on the plate. My husband and I voted this restaurant as our favorite around Prague and we will definitely come back... Hopefully soon.More

good food for good price, nice environment, kind staff. Summer terrace on the bank of pond. If you are looking calm place to spent some time with good food with view to pond - it´s good choice.
