My husband, 2 boys and I stayed here as a halfway stop on our way to Cornwall. We stayed in the Hinton suite across the road from the main building. From checking in to checking out our stay was perfect....the room was beautiful, old but with a modern feel. Amazing shower and extremely fluffy towels - spotless clean!! A good... More

We live fairly locally and I drive past this lovely building every day on the way to work. Thought we would give it a try for a family birthday celebration for dinner. We were in the dungeon room which was different but nice. The older woman who initially greeted us was a bit officious and reminded me of a school... More

I thank you for your comments and apologise for the way you were made to feel by the one person. I am sad that you found our food to be tasteless and uniform but fail to understand how this could be. We are indeed part of the same company but would like to point out that we do not have... More

Traveled with family from US on holiday. We were visiting Bath and had lunch in the pub, but did not stay in the hotel. The food and service were both quite good, but note that you have to go to the bar to place your order (this is probably obvious for locals). To say the place has ambiance is a... More

I can understand why anyone would be impressed by the wonderful old building which is the George. What I don't understand is why pre-prepared cabin food would attract such rave reviews. I visited last Wednesday for a family birthday and was decidedly underwhelmed by the mainly bland and tasteless fare. But the surroundings made up for it somewhat so I... More

Had dinner on my birthday in the fabulous dining room. the food and atmosphere were great. Service was exceptional and the after dinner stroll down to the church was great. Even going to the loo was like a walk through history.

It's great that you can have lunch outside in the garden so that the kids can play. The food is excellent and the service is very good. The people are very friendly.

The George is certainly still one of the best places to eat locally in Norton St Philip. Always best to register online with the brewery to get your £ 5 voucher.Service is excellent & the manager Jenny runs a tight ship.

We ate at the George when we stayed at the Bath Lodge Hotel. The view from the pub car park was an added bonus. This 700 year old pub still has a lot going for it. The service from the bar staff was excellent. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty and fresh.

Went here with a friend, lovely setting but I did not enjoy my burger, found it tastless but my friend had the duck and was really impressed. Chips were not that great either, nice for one visit
