This was our first visit to this restaurant that we'd heard quite a lot about. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the place was full. From the outside there isn't much signage and gives the impression of a typical village bistro, but when you step inside, the atmosphere & interior decor really set the Thai atmosphere. The menu is... More

I have to say I am surprised with all the positive TA reviews and the GaultMillau award.. LOL! I guess if you have never been to Thailand or any other Asian country then its ok.... its really basic Asian food that you can find everywhere with much lower price and bigger portion.... they probably think by serving smaller portion, nice... No comment, anyway from the beginning you were difficult about the dishes, ice cream, everything. Doesn't matter if you don't come back. The prices are normal for Switzerland and for the quality of products. Best wishes Sylvie Kongsunton More

Nestled in an unlikely spot, this is without a doubt one of the finest Thai restaurants in the country: expansive menu where everything is cooked and spiced to perfection, charming but unpretentious atmosphere and a very functional welcome. There's a reason this place has so many devotees who sing its praise so highly, and if you want to know what... More

Owner is big headed and impolite. We booked for 9pm when we got there we were told to wait as there was no table available. 10 minutes later we were still standing up at the entrance with no excuses or proposition for dinner. Owner was telling the staff what to tell us right next to us! Owner is rude. We... More

Missing are the lovely flavors of Thai cuisine, such as lemongrass and fresh herbs. Instead, the chef seems to go with a heavy hand for nam pla and sugar. Some dishes would have been good but ended nearly inedible because they were too sweet (chicken with cashew nuts, overcooked and coated in syrup) or too salty (green papaya salad). The... More

It was a nice restaurant, but then they decided that they have too many clients. The place is still ok (nothing too fancy imo) but portions are becoming smaller and prices are going upwards. Even though the owner swears that the ingredients are top quality and the cooking is done by minute (which is ridiculous - an experienced chef doesn't... More

Fantastic Thai restaurant, excellent for a romantic dinner. What I loved the most was the infusion of aromas (lemongrass, curry and galangal) upon entering the restaurant. That simply took you to another world. The candle-lit tables were also beautifully decorated and their tableware had a unique Thai resemblance. The food was DELICIOUS!! I have already been there twice and can't... More

We found this place through groupon and thought it we would give it a go for an inexpensive lunch. The service was good and the food was nice, nothing special. It was our first time with groupon and I made a mistake with the small print. The owner could have given us the benefit of the doubt but she quite... More

I had wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and finally did, using a groupon voucher. I reserved a table 1 week in advance and lucky I did, because the house was packed! The food was really excellent; hot n spicy and very authentic. Service was smart and the owner (I presume) was very accomodating. We shall return... More

We tried several Thai restaurants in the region. Tawan Taï is not one of the cheapest but the food and friendly ambience makes it one of the best ! From the starter with vegetarian spring rolls, fried shrimps, crab soup and green papaya salad to the main coarse with red curry minced beef with coconut milk, duck and perfumed rice... More
