After watching the Lisbon episode of Somebody Feed Phil, we made it our first dinner stop on our trip. And it did not disappoint.
We arrived at opening time (7pm), and it was a bit of a gong show: there were just far too many...people for the one host to deal with. Most people had reservations, some did not.
Eventually we were seated, and everything just got better and better after that. The wine (a vinho verde) was excellent, and so was the food. We opted for the octopus salad and a couple of very local dishes: a pig's trotter stew, and a chicken giblet and blood rice. Both were excellent, but won't be to everyone's liking, especially if you have more of a, ahem, Caucasian palet...
A word about the ambience and views: in a word, stunning! This is a must try when visiting Lisbon; just remember to make reservations well in advance...More
