Restaurante Farol

Ratings and reviews

Certificate of Excellence2015 - 2016 Winner

Location and contact

The "Farol" is a century-old restaurant, the oldest in Setubal and is known for good beer and good seafood, from their own aquariums. With a cozy atmosphere and a great ''Tejo'' river and Lisbon's view, it's a great place to be.The name "Farol" came from the lighthouse's existence in Cacilhas who once helped navigation of small boats, called "Cacilheiros".Cacilheiros are an easy transport to lots of people in Lisbon to the other side of the Tagus river. You can combine the great tour with the excelence to be able to lunch or dinner in Cacilhas and taste our fish or seafood.

Genuine Portuguese seafood. Always busy so we usually ask to sit in the inner part of the restaurant where it’s calmer. A favourite in Almada!

Great restaurant - delicious fish and seafood, very friendly service. From the restaurant you even have a panoramic view of Lisbon. But much more important is the great food.

Our guide suggested Farol for lunch. It was a great recommendation. We ate great grilled octopus, clams in wine sauce and a shrimp “soup” that was like a porridge with bread as the thickener. Lots of garlic. A carafe of vinho verde. We enjoyed it...More

A reservation is always recommended. The price level is medium. If you choose the lobster, it will of course be more expensive. Calculate with approx. 40€ per person.
