Well worth the visit!

We have visited Urban Fresh 3 times now since it opened. First time was with family and I tried two starters, the prawns pil pil and the sticky beef - both amazing! Pil pil is my personal favourite and my go to starter especially in Spain and this is up there with the best I’ve eaten! Second time we went with friends and again amazing, between us we had steak, the fish mocequa, and a mixture of chicken and steak skewers (this wasn’t an option of having 2 meats however they were so accommodating when I asked to try both) Third time we went again with friends and my husband and I shared a chateaubriand between us and it was by far the best one we’ve ever had. The selection of potato sides were great, meant that my husband could have chips whilst I went for new potatoes and an option for two sauces too! Every time I’ve had the prawns pil pil (yes it really that good) and to top it off the Dulce de leche cheesecake is one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. This place is a real hidden gem and so worth the visit. The price tag can be off putting but I’d pay it over and over because the food quality and flavour is outstanding and is supported by excellent service every time. We will be visiting again and again and again!

Excellent Lunch Experience

Urban Fresh has in one visit surpassed other restaurants in this area. The lunch special menu is great value at £20 for two and £25 for three courses. When we visited the restaurant was very quiet which may be down to the A La Carte menu being at a premium price point. However, the pricing reflects the quality of the ingredients, cooking and presentation and the service is exemplary. So, why not get a taste of this superb cuisine (unusually South American) at the realistic lunch special prices. Then you may well be persuaded to return for the A La Carte lunch or evening menus.

Delicious food, beautiful restaurant

My husband and I dined at Urban Fresh on a Monday evening. The service was fantastic and friendly. Beautiful spacious restaurant, comfortable chairs and plenty of space. The food was delicious and I recommend the tiger prawn starter as well as the scallop starter. Steaks were cooked well and were delicious and so were the sides. We travelled from Southend as we heard good reviews from a friend and it was well worth the trip. We will definitely be going back. Can’t wait to try some of the cocktails too. We are very happy customers

Read the reviews was disappointed

I went to Urban with my friend after having read the reviews about the place. Turned up about 15 mins early but they didn’t seem busy we asked to be seated which they were happy to do. However didn’t seem to sit us in the restaurant stated that it was dirty after having a busy afternoon with lots of children. We understood that and were happy to be seated in the pub which is joined onto the restaurant if it’s the same food. They stated it was and that it would be table service as well. We order our drinks and decided what to have to eat our drinks arrived no order was taken. After about 10 minutes of waiting to order I went over to the bar to see if I had to order there. This was in the fact correct you have to order at the bar no table service. I went to order only for the meat chosen for them to not have. However rather than check the two girls behind the till starting having a debate over whether they had it rather than go check. After a reshuffle of what we wanted I ordered stating I wanted my gravy on the side as I didn’t like it over everything I made this clear multiple times. However after waiting for a food for a while approximately 30-40 minutes when there not busy our food arrived and mine had gravy all over it. I stated to the waiter that I asked for no gravy on my food but for it to be on the side. He then asked me if I wanted it changed to which I stated yes with the gravy on the side. My friend had his food but no cutlery so I had to go over and ask for some so he could start eating before his food went cold. When mine finally did arrive there was no gravy on the side I would say the food was not worth the wait. The meat was good as was the Yorkshire pudding. However veg was not crispy and the cauliflower cheese had barely any cheese. We went to the bar to pay after finishing, as we were leaving we walked past the urban restaurant which was clean and no one was in it. Felt like we had been lied to service was terrible food wasn’t worth it disappointed in the wasted journey

Been back 3 times in a month!

We first went for our anniversary meal Dec 21st and have been back 2 times since! Having been to this venue during its previous owners/ layouts over many years, we were taken aback by how wonderful the decor is! So unique and creative whilst warm and ambient. Loved the Mexican/ South American flavours and meat cooked to perfection. The menu is very refreshing and like no other local venues (not your typical Italian, Indian etc). We revisited for the third time on New Year’s Day and had the private room which is fantastic if you want a table where you can all talk easily and see each other. Again, decor of this amazing! We felt it was very reasonably priced for the portion sizes and the roast beef was the nicest roast meat we had out - tasted like a fillet. We learnt that it is soaked in red wine before slow cooking .. delicious! A special mention to the female supervisor/ manager who went out of her way on New Year’s Day to come and check in on our table - a huge asset to this venue and what a lovely touch to our day.

Excellent quality, service and ambience!

We stumbled across this hidden gem whilst out for an afternoon drive. The restaurant staff were very accommodating in serving us a later lunch/early dinner. The food was excellent, the service -fantastic and we loved the decor and chilled background music. We would definitely recommend and absolutely come back!!

Sunday lunch

We visited this newly opened South American themed restaurant for Sunday lunch and were very happy with the food and service we received. Good quality ingredients cooked well. Very tasty. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. We will definitely return and look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

Disappointed

We went for a celebration meal but the restaurant was empty apart from a large table with 6 children. The children were all sat on the floor, playing and sprawled across the restaurant. They were so noisy it completely spoilt the atmosphere. For a restaurant which is trying to pitch itself as somewhere special it was extremely disappointing and we will not be visiting again. We left and went somewhere else.

Absolutely fabulous decor , very clean and comfortable. The menu is small but a great variety available. The chicken skewers melt in the mouth and the rice is cooked to perfection. Not the cheapest of places but you get what you pay for . Would highly recommend and will be returning very soon

Amazing food at Urban Fresh

Visited this new restaurant last week with my husband . Love the decor and atmosphere. The food was amazing so full of flavour and really tasty love the American inspired flavours. I had the steak for mains and it was cooked to perfection my husband had the pork chop and it was amazing . Service was excellent and it was a really enjoyable eating experience and we will definitely be coming back . Love love this place

Outstanding restaurant

This is is an amazing restaurant! The food, drinks menu was spectacular. We’ve been coming back a lot of times now and bringing along friends who we have recommended the place too. The food is very tasty and having been through most of the menu on our numerous visits, none of us can fault any of the food. The lady who runs it is very friendly and extremely passionate about her food. It’s the sort of place that you don’t really want to tell anyone about for fear that it will become too busy. But it’s only a matter of time before it does and well deserved too.

Delcious food. Good selection on set menu. Good value for money. Set lunch menu £20 for two courses Included generous portion of scallops in starter. Chicken skewer moist with lovely veg. Sticky beef starter very tasty. Fish stew full of fish. Nice house wine. Decor is delightful. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely will be back

Great family lunch

Family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) had a lovely lunch. Great service from Jay, who really made us feel welcome. The chef was happy to do smaller portions for the children. We had a lovely lunch at Urban Fresh and booked for Xmas Eve.

A hidden gem in Billericay

Great South American cuisine , really delicious and different. Lovely flavours, some spicy but not overpowering and sensible portions served by a lovely young lady. Situated in Ramsden Heath, go check it out, easy parking.
