Child and dog friendly (but not overrun!) food, service, beer, atmosphere all what you'd expect from a hidden pub in beautiful surroundings. Nice a close to incorporate a walk around Sale Water Park. Pretty certain they do cycle hire too.

All staff were miserable, queued for 20 minutes for food... all to get to the bar and be told that the kitchen was closed for 30 minutes. I asked if I could order then for when it reopened and was told very rudely no! It seems the rudeness of staff is on here a lot! If I ran the place... More

Lovely place, pay and display parking so bring a pound! Menu is varied, fabulous portion sizes and delicious. Dogs welcome and biscuits for sale behind the bar. Beer garden and good kids play area outside too!

The drinks are overpriced for the quality and the staff look down at the clients? I don't mind paying a decent price for nice, quality drinks but not for tosh! This pub has plenty of potential and needs a clearout !!! THAT IS ALL !!!

A great place to stop whether for a bit of refreshments after a long walk or a nice meal beforehand. Dogs allowed in vault or in gardens. Good food and friendly atmosphere.

We went here after a game of golf elsewhere so our friends could take their dog in. Unfortunately everybody else had also taken their dogs in so it was smelly and noisy with barks and yaps. It wasn't very full but it still took ages for our food to arrive and was delivered with bad grace. The food itself was... More

Perfect place for a beer when walking dog along river. Big beer garden, seems popular, first visit, will return. Well deserved rest for bella & beer for me :)

This is a great family pub, my kids love going. It has a play area and is well located for family walks around the water park. The food is of a high quality, not boring chain stuff. As it is very popular it can get very busy resulting in queues for drinks and a shortage of seats unfortunately. A victim... More

Lovely location and unique pub. The food was excellent and good value for money. If your hungry try the steak and ale pie you deserve a blue peter badge if you can eat it all. The service however was Poor they had not took into consideration the lovely weather. They stopped taking food orders for 35 minutes the place was... More
