Never disappointed. Very roomy and the food is certainly not swimming in grease and fat. I'll be back - good value too. Thanks guys!

Enjoyed lunch here with friends. I don;t often eat fish and chips now as they are often limp and greasy. Not here ! The food was cooked to order and was hot and crispy and very tasty. Definitely one to remember- I will be back.

Went 30 minutes before closing and was refused any service he said he was closing, then seen him walking to the pub. Glad to see beer is more important then customer service.

The fish has always been splendid whenever I've had the pleasure of a trip to Captain Cod, often when visiting relatives who live in the area. These days I tend to visit the relatives purely for the opportunity of getting some fish from Captain Cod. The chips are good too and the gravy, curry sauce and mushy peas are of... More

Used this Chippy for years! Consistently good and convenient to call by. Never used the dine-in facility, which looks cheerful enough. The exterior had a re-vamp, just a change of colour really. Food just as good, I believe, though we've been attracted to visit, more hip and on trend establishments for some time. Sometimes it's more than the food that... More

This chippy has been open forever! I remember coming here as a kid and now I bring my children too. Its a chippy that you can sit in to eat. Making it the best of British experience.

First time we tried this chippy on recommendation off trip advisor and we will be returning many times for sure. All food the family ordered couldnt have been better, we had fish, chips, turkey sticks and curry sauce. The owners are really friendly, the cafe to eat in is really clean and tidy, good prices, cant wait to return.

When I was growing up in Yorkshire, fish shops sold good quality fresh cod and proper chips. Think of Harry Ramsden's original place or the shops in places like Whitby. These days, most of the cod you get is in the form of rectangular pieces of frozen fish in a greasy batter with chips that are barely brown. The fish... More
