Travel to Aljezur & head for the West Coast of Portugal, your destination is Praia de Monte Clerigo … yes, you’ll wonder where I am sending you! Once there you will find this beautiful hamlet, set in a gorgeous beach bay, which you will drop...into no matter which route you take. There is a very popular snack bar, cafe on the car park, beach front, but to the left in a slightly elevated position, you will find O Sargo. Predominantly seafood (as you can imagine from its situation), but meats are also available on their lovely menu & a full range of drinks. However moving away from the wining & dining, just breath in & take in the view! You will most certainly want to return!More

We visited last year and just had to return. Shown straight to a table at the front of the restaurant overlooking the beach. English spoken by all the servers and English menu provided. It’s virtually all from the sea, which suits us fine. Drinks order...promptly taken and we chose to have a drink first before ordering. Both chose the tuna skewers with lemon rice. Bread, olives, carrots and a slightly chewy octopus were served quickly and mains arrived around 20-30 minutes after ordering. Both were perfectly cooked, medium for me and well done for my wife. Mine was pink in the middle, exactly as I like it and both were juicy and tender. Lemon rice was good. Large portions, so much so that my wife couldn’t finish hers, so I helped out! Accompanied by a bottle of ice cold white house wine and mineral water. €67. Excellent value for the quality of the food, location and service.More

Excellent food, great service and nice live music and really creative and tasty alternatives for vegetarians, which is not a standard in Portugal at all.

For the quality I thought it was expensive. The black rice was good, but the shrimp and scallops were just ok.

I went to Sargo Restaurant because I hadn't had breakfast that morning. I ordered a stake, and it was one of the nicest stakes I've actually had in a while. The service was also excellent.

The location is fabulous, just off the stunning beach. Simple food but prepared and delivered with great care. The Salmon & mushroom risotto was superb with very clever use of fresh lemons, herbs and radishes to add great flavour & a little crunch.

Visiting Monte Clerigo for the first time, had lunch (Fresh Tuna on skewers) sat outside looking across a beautiful beach to the Atlantic Ocean. A good variety of food on the menu and our meal was well presented and served.

At the end of a beautiful walk along the Algarve coast I had been looking forward to drinking a coffee in Monte Clérigo, directly at the beach. A few other customers, two groups of roughly each 8 persons were sitting when I arrived. I asked...the waitress whether I could have a drink only as she just left became available. Whereas the British group was served coffee and drinks despite I had spoken to her, I never received the menu I had been promised. Disappointing that a single customer was not considered at all. Due to the approaching sunset I had to leave after 15mins waiting. Certainly, NOT a recommendation!More

Modern surfers fusion restaurant not far from the beach. As starter we took Gyozas , very tasty. The main was salmon with risotto and scallops with black Rice. The last main had also shrimps. Value for money. Nice was the performance of a Portugal group...with jazzy Music. The table guy could be more attentive.More

We came here twice for lunch. The first day, in the rain we were seated inside, but on the second visit we got to enjoy the terrace. It's a popular place, so reservation is advised. The menu is interesting and most of the dishes we...tried were good. I wouldn't especially recommend the duck gnocchi, but the tuna tataki, scallops with black rice, octopus and poke dishes were all decent. House wine was nice too. It's not great value for money, but as a nice restaurant in the location it is, it's not too bad either.More
