If I could give 6 stars for food, I would. I like the unagi here - the fat between the meat and grilled skin is unbelievable thick! So so good. Process: We got our local friend to book the eel but we had to queue...More

I visited this restaurant for the first time. The restaurant officially opens at 11am but it actually opens at 10am. So I visited there at 10am. I could park my car at the front of the restaurant but it was the last space. The restaurant...More

Overpriced. While the eel was definitely very good, the menu is limited, the mixed tempura consisted of some random vegetables and two tiny sardines, all accompanied with a tiny side dish of sliced carrots, pickles and a clear soup. Not worth the 5,400Yen price for...More

This is our second visit and we are very pleased to make our way here just to have Unagi. The unagi is fatty and smooth. Almost melt in the mouth. The unagi are done two ways - the dark sauce type and the lightly done...More

Tomoei Eel is a Michelin Star unagiya located in Hakone and they specialised in serving the freshwaster blue eel. In fact, when we went there, they only asked whether we wanted the unaju* (grilled eel with sweet soy sauce) or shirayaki (grilled eel seasoned with...More

It was so surprising that no more eel when I arrived there just 30mins prior to the door open on Sunday. It means food was avail only for people booked in advance! So I booked for next day & came back as I really wanted...More

Amazingly delicious, finger-licking good great gem found through personal connection. We reserved eels for six of us but the restaurant booking is not possible, so we had to wait for 20 minutes before we managed to get a perfect setting.

Unfortunately there may not be the English menu. I recommend to order “shirayaki-gozen”. It is the best taste in the eel dishes that I have ever eaten. For details, please find my review.
