If you visit Formby one of the best pubs to eat and drink in is the Cross House Inn. It has a traditional look yet it has modern facilities and space especially since the new extension was put on. You will be welcomed and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We will be visiting again, the food was well presented and... More

Visited with a friend at lunch time. I chose the beef rib and pulled pork, uploaded a picture, look at it. Just look at it! I don't need to tell you how good it was. Prices reasonable for the quality and they do offer some cheaper deals as well. Welcoming staff, good service however, if you do happen to go... More

The Crosshouse is fine. The staff are pleasant, the food is good value and not overpriced.Have mainly had lunch there with a few friends and always found it a pleasant enough experience. My only small complaint is that I don't like having to walk through the smokers to enter or leave the pub.

Came here for the first time ever on Sunday with my hubby, Mum and 2 children. The pub has a nice feel as it appears to be a popular drinking pub as well as just a restaurant, which is mostly all you get these days. I'm always a bit worried going for a meal as I'm vegan and can't always... More

Hi Mikey, sorry you didn't enjoy you last visit to us. I'm not too sure what you ordered but our very popular Antipasti board priced at £7.99 is a mix of salami served with olives, cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, houmous and white bloomer bread. Our El Mazo house wine is £11.99 and a pint of one of our 10 real... More

On Sunday 19th June 2016, my family took me for a meal to celebrate Father's Day, at the Cross House pub, in Formby. Upon arrival the pub was a little busy, so I expected a delay. Fortunately, there was no delay and we were served drinks immediately. Our food order was taken soon after. Starters arrived in good time, much... More

Friend recently moved to formby and I visited the weekend as activities on the weekend. Greeted by friendly staff, good selection of beers with a wide variety on the food menu. Nothing was too much for the staff. Will definitely be back!

This pub is in an old attractive Victorian house set at a cross roads in the expansive village of Formby. It sits on the site of a local market where in 1799, a local man sold his wife for 15/- and a bowl of punch!

The pub is divided into four rooms with comfy sofas and chairs and attractive fireplaces and pictures of old Formby can be found on the walls. An Old English Inn in the heart of Formby village. We served traditional English fare along with our daily changing chef's specials. Try one of our 10 cask ales, there are some Greene King favourites along with local guest ales from a variety of breweries. There's an extensive gin collection on our bar, the staff will be happy to recommend which is perfect for you! Throughout the summer months come and relax in our 2 beer gardens whether you want to dine al fresco or enjoy and refreshing drink in the sunshine. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday 10am till 12pm, choose from a traditional English breakfast or there's lite bites if your just a little peckish. We have regular events throughout the year in aid of our local charities; our main event being CrossFest, an annual outdoor beer and music festival held during August Bank Holiday Weekend. There are live bands on an outdoor stage, real ale tent, gin bar, festival stalls, BBQ and much much more.

The pub was refurbished at the end of Summer 2013 with an extended dining area and new garden to the rear to complement the open area at the front of the pub. Small private functions can be held in an area of the restaurant which can be sectioned off.

We are only a short walk from The National Trust Coastline in Formby, with a glorious beach and dramatic sand dunes surrounded by sweeping coastal pinewoods. There's plenty of wildlife to see and wonderful walks to discover and if you've taken the dog then bring them back to the pub where they along with you can enjoy a drink in a beautiful beer garden. You can find us just off the Formby By-Pass(A5654) between Liverpool and Southport, just follow the signs.
