If your looking for authentic puertorrican food you have to visit. It's small so don't expect a large restaurant. Service is really good and the owner always stops by and makes you feel welcome. I can take clients and friends for some good sangria and pasteles (which are traditional puertorrican christmas plates).

Great portions. The dessert "Tres leches" was excellent. The music was entertaining. I came for the risotto and it was very good. The offered a skirt or shrimp risotto. They had coconut water and fresh orange juice.

Besides the typical "criolla" menu, this place offers traditional Christmas fare, such as pasteles, pork, etc., all year. The food is generally very good, the service not so much. They usually have live music and karaoke and the ambiance is entertaining. You need to make reservations if the group is large. Although not outstanding, it is a good choice for... More

This was my first visit to El Gigante Dormido, but most definitely not the last! What a wonderful experience: the typical Puerto Rican food was delicious, from the pasteles as an appetizer to the flan de queso as desert. But it is really the atmosphere which is extraordinary - Edwin, the owner, takes the time to make everyone in the... More

It was good but not wow, the waitress apparently was not happy that day, her silent reaction spoke loud , no greeting or offering from the menu, just what they had run out of. The life music was good an accord with the atmosphere. When the ticket came we had to double check we were getting charge for an extra... More

Edwin is a character all to himself. Chef, entrepreneur, bon vivant, he'll chat you up for hours, have a drink, and tell you himself every little detail about the place. The décor could use a little updating but maybe that's what gives it its charm... I don't know. It really is Edwin's world and you just happen to float in.... More

The food was awesome, the ambiance was family oriented and even Edwin, the owner, was talking to us making sure everything was done right. This is a must visit place if you want real local food, at a good price with awesome service.
