The down side of our experience 1) the service was slow and rather uninspiring to start with albeit it did Improve 2) the olives and bread were also poor by our previous Portuguese experiences 3) other customers were seen to complain and return food, which made us apprehensive The up sides 1) the simple mixed salad was very fresh and... We went on a Monday lunch time and were lucky to get a table straight away. We ordered stewed octopus with Sweet Potato and Baked Octopus with Garlic. The dishes took a while to come but were worth the wait. Absolutely delicious and the best Octopus we have had! Good value and amazing food. Get there early!

I highly recommend a visit to Casa do Polvo in St. Luzia. It is a very good restaurant, with excellent service and great food. We tried the fabulous Acorda de Polvo and we have agreed we need to go back to try many other great looking dishes :-).

Our Chinese friend in Algarve drove us with a few other people to dine at this restaurant. The host selected various dishes including clams, shrimps and octopus. All the food was excellent and very tasty. It might be difficult to to choose which to order for first timers, so I would suggest to go there with someone who knew the... More

Husband had clams/spaghetti, I had garlic / spicy prawns and mixed salad. Busy (seemed with lots of French - they know good food!) so tasty and fresh didn't want it to end - even husband who's not keen on large doses of garlic - commented how good even the garlic was - not overpowering😳 Bit of a drive out for... We went here with two guests on the recomendation of a friend and after reading Trip Advisor reviews but we were sadly disappointed. Two of us had the soup which came cold and was inedible. The calamari starter was good. Two of the main courses - lamb and Octopus were good and the hake would have been good had the... More

Not very busy when we visited for lunch. The waiting staff did lots of waiting in the sense of waiting for dishes to arrive from the kitchen. Ours took 40 minutes from ordering to table. And then proved not to have been worth the wait. Pretty ordinary best describes our view of the cooking.

Everything our group ordered was fairly simply prepared but tasted so fresh and delicious. The children option was fresh, proper fish (not previously frozen fish fingers). It was also probably the most expensive meal we had during our week in Santa Luzia, but worth it.
