Staying with friends who wanted to visit they live 30 mins away staff are sadly unwelcoming ...and unhelpful.. restaurant was so dark . . Felt a huge inconvenience to them... food was good but need staff training on customer service .. such a shame as stunning pub .

Tried this pub six months ago and got the feeling we weren't welcome..decided to try again and maybe sit outside..shouldn't of bothered! Miserable barman who never said thank you or even tried to raise the corners of his downcast mouth which may have resulted in something like a smile. Didn't feel welcome, I asked if the dog could come into... More

Probably my new local! Good atmosphere with traditional - but not dated - British pub environment. Really superb Italian food - good choice, top quality, well presented. Selection of real ales, nice wines (welcome back to the skittle of chianti !) good service and staff. Couldn't fault it really.

We don't live too far away and almost fell upon this lovely, somewhat secluded pub/restaurant on a sunny afternoon. The staff were both attentive and helpful and seemed proud to show their menu which was a good start. We were just looking for a nice "no fuss" lunch and after perusing the delicious Italian delights on offer we decided to... More

We were staying over locally and found this pub nearby and were pleased that we did. Ordered food, a glass of wine and local real ale all of which were very good. Thought the Dartmouth had a nice atmosphere with regular locals and good staff. The meals were generous in size and well prepared - very tasty. Didn't have my... More

Excellent food in relaxed surroundings; good choice of food and option of real ale or good wine (or both...); timely but not rushed service. Been before & will go again

Eight of us booked for a mid week treat and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. All of the food was well cooked - especially the steaks and the pasta - and the device was faultless.
