Wanting peace and rest during half term my fiancé booked a couple of days here. It was exactly what we needed. Comfortable cosy room, lovely garden and super service. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. The restaurant was closed however the fox Inn just down the drive was very accommodating. A lovely end to a week.

Great stay in this hotel, I loved the quirky nature of the hotel room. The hotel had a lovely history and was warm and welcoming. Very quiet and very good nights sleep. Lovely antique furniture and very comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. Would stay here again.

Fantastic old building with character oozing from every wall, lovely reception on arrival even though we were early. Upgraded to 4 poster bedroom and was lovely. No food that night but wisely informed me of the Fox Inn at the end of the road. Great night there as well. Would recommend for sure.

This was the 2nd time we had stayed at the hotel. The hotel staff were Helpful, Friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was 1st class, not too much and not too little. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable, and just the right firmness. Will be back again next year. Thank You to all... More

We only wanted somewhere to lay our heads overnight, but I'm so glad we picked the Old Rectory. Reasonably priced, the room and bed were lovely, and - unusually for a hotel- the TV was a good size. As darkness fell our room felt a little cold so I ask reception for a blanket. Instead we got a portable radiator... More

After my colleague was given the horrid task of organising our works Christmas party for people impossible to please, she booked here; and I'm very glad she did! We dealt with Selena (the manageress?) on almost a daily basis due to our staff wanting the menu to be changed, then deciding that the first menu was fine, then more people... More

We stayed one night to allow us pop into Shrewsbury (£15.00 each way with Comet taxis) to do some Christmas shopping. We arrived early and although the room was not ready we were made very welcome while we waited on the taxi they sourced for us. A great building dating back well into the 1800's. The room was nicely furnished,... More

Recently visited for a family celebration. Beautiful building, great food and the staff couldn't be more helpful - looking forward to hopefully visiting again.

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, outstanding service, food and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this venue for any party or celebration due to the organisation, accommodating our every requirement, paying particular attention to detail without being intrusive or over facing. We brought 40 of our family and friends to enjoy a celebratory meal for our youngest child’s Christening celebration; we... More
