Miss Marple’s is a traditional and authentic English cottage style tearoom, located in Sassafras within the Dandenong Ranges. Based on Agatha Christies Miss Marple series, the walls adorn the memorabilia from the series. It has always been a busy café and now to the extent that you have to book a few hours in advance, especially on the week-ends. The... More

I wonder, if all the reviews are genuine. I've been at Miss Marples many times. And every time I was very happy with the service and the food. But yes sometimes it can be a bit different all depending on how busy it is. That's the downside of a large and popular venue. The quality can't be always the same,... More

My first time here this afternoon with my cousin for their signature scones and tea. The place is a magnet for tourists and is obviously highly recommended. However I have had better scones elsewhere.....

Food was reasonably not bad while the service average probably due to the crowd even at a supposedly non-peak end segment of the lunch hour. Pies were not much different from that sold at pies stores, though being priced at premium. The fish and chips were also average and nothing to shout about or recommend. Other dishes were average thereabout.... More

Now this was a bit of a surprise visit for me, being from England and a senior waiter at one of England's oldest five star established hotels, famous for its afternoon teas, I wasn't exactly in the mood to visit what I work in daily back home. The wait was, long, however considering the beauty of the town and popularity... More

We were privileged to dine at Miss Marple's Tea Room and sample the wonderful and delicious English-style food on our recent trip to Melbourne. Because there was such an interesting menu, we probably ate far too much, walking out of the Restaurant like a party of 'oompa-loompas' :-) Undoubtedly very popular, we would recommend one would get there close to,... For a Thursday lunch we had to wait for 25 mins to get a table, this place is definitely too much a tourist attraction. Inside was really cramped. But very clean and cozy. We got a good size table since we had two kids. But I saw three adult men sitting in a tiny corner...food was quite good. I know... More

Yesterday we visited Miss Marple's Tearoom looking forward to enjoying the 'famous' scones they have on their menu. Instead we were served a piece of stodgy, rubbery, unsweetened plain cake cut from a microwaved slab. Horrible! The tearoom itself is overcrowded and cramped .There are many places to enjoy scones in Sassafras but this is not one of them! The... More

What a wonderful experience, full of character. The place is themed on the Miss marple, mysteries. We had to give our names and return 20mins later as so busy and this as we were told is always the case. The food is out of this world at reasonable prices. A must to do if in the area. There is an... More

Be prepared to wait for a table! You cannot book ahead. There were three groups ahead of us and when we left 45 minutes after being seated the waiting crowd and grown. This was in the early afternoon. The ambience and service is tasteful and very English. Though crowded, customers spoke in muted voices, servers were efficient and the noise... More
