While my spring rolls were OK, hubby Pad Thai was pretty good, only there was a rubber band in it!! Don't expect fast service and all..we had to practically flag down the wait staff because they were all sitting together. All in all, it was...OK...Best thing was, meeting a fellow TA family member from Idaho..when he called out my name...i was stunned. Maybe we just didn't know what to order!!More

Got our food really fast and it was extremely cheap, but don’t expect high class food. Portions were also very small.

Padthai Baan Yim is one the the most popular places in Chiang Khong. Not that I dislike it, but it's kinds mediocre to my taste. Pad thai wasn't nearly the best I had in Thailand, other dishes as well. Except probably for Tom Kha soup...- which was tasty. But place is open for both lunch and dinner and has reasonable prices. Service is slow - but it's sort of normal:-) So all in all it is definitely a place to eat in Chiang Khong.More

I was happy to find out this restaurant today. I really wanted to order and taste a good padthai, local style as I love. The portion I got wasn't enough, such a small quantity. Noodles were litteraly a unique block, without that special taste of...padThai. At the entrance of the restaurant, I found a nice desk full of fresh seasonal fruits; I immediately asked for a pineapple juice: no way! They couldn't blend that ananas for me. Maybe it's better to store them inside a fridge, if you don't use them. Anyway, the restaurant is located in a good place, spacious and colourful and prices are cheap.More

The best Massaman Curry I’ve had. This place was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. If you are in Chiang Khong and need a great lunch, it’s on the Main Street. We ordered 3 dishes, 1 appetiser and 5 drinks...and the bill was 310 baht!More

We’ve had many meals here in the last 3 years we have visited Chiang Khong. Last night’s Phad Thai moo was cold and the ingredients did not seem freshly prepared, except for the noodles. It was apparent that the pork were cooked leftovers from the...lunch shift and were used for the dinner menu. Will try again in the next few days and hope that the food is as we’re accustomed to enjoying.More

Upon visiting Chiang Kong, Padthai Baan Yim had been recommended ever since our very early visit. The place is still doing very well with providing delicious Padthai and other Thai dishes. We were never disappointed in having lunch or dinner there. However beware that the...place close down in the afternoon before reopen in the evening. So it is best to check the opening hours.More

We kept extending our stay in Chiang Khong, and came here often. We liked the food here a lot. Their pork & basil was one of the best versions we had, and the pad see ew was good. The tofu pad thai was usually good,...but less consistent; after it was oddly sweet and very oily once, I shifted to ordering other things. We really liked the people who run this place, but the service could be a bit moody -- lovely one night, very brusque the next. They're busy, and this can be a stressful biz; it didn't keep us from returning.More

Delicious food at rock bottom prices and a chilled garden vibe with a friendly welcome. There’s not a crazy amount of choice on the menu but id like to think that means what you get is better! We had the sweet and sour pork and...chicken with cashew nut. Both dishes were excellent and made even better when you see the bill at the end. Ticked all the boxes for us.More

Went here as they had a few vegetarian options and left disappointed. The spring rolls were okay, but the noodles and tofu curry were bland and tasteless. Also, the service was haphazard, with the noodles, rice and curry all arriving at different times

There is a very nice atmosphere, the garden is well decorated. Food is okay, but nothing special. Wifi did work well.

Should you be tired of the street food options then sitting down at Baan Yim is an option. WiFi , fruit smoothies and a good assortment of meals either undercover or out in the courtyard. Fish dishes a little elusive. Meals served as s first...come basis so a little patience if they are busy or move along if you are short of time.More

Staff don't care whether you're there or not and pad thai was clumpy noodles all stuck together and way, way, way too much oil. You get what you pay for.

A meal as simple as a Pad Thai is elevated here and constructed with care. The menu is well varied and the staff is super welcoming. The prices are unbeatable and the seating area in the garden is vast offering many different types of decor...and tables!More

Local bus from Chiang rai leaves from the bus station next to the night market. From memory they leave pretty often and is cheap as chips.
