One of the best western meals I have had in Thailand. The owner has put some serious effort into his dishes and it really shows. I live very close to Mexico and this food hits the nail on the head. (Also real sour cream?? Hell yes. This Cali girl is in heaven) Everything explodes with flavor and the home made... More

We are heading back to chaing khong tomorrow and bamboo mexican house will be our first stop off the bus, usually avoid western food but this place was a lucky accident and was far better than hoped for. Amazing coffee and breakfasts as well as home baked bread and tex-mex. Must try

The proprietor obviously likes his Mexican food, and takes care to source the best ingredients and not substitute for quality or authenticity. Doesn't seem as popular as other places in town any more, likely as the prices are higher, particularly for beer. Still, food is superb and his service is exemplary. Only complaint is the mosquitos near the garden area.

Like others have said the owner is incredibly friendly, there are large portions, and have amazing home-made bread. A must to stop by if you're in Chaing Khong.

We had a wonderful evening at the Bamboo. The Mexican was delicious and the proprietor was delightfully quirky. After dinner an unexpected and unrelenting downpour forced us into a couple more Changs, and to our delight the owner and a couple of friends serenaded our consumption with a couple of guitars, a fiddle and some Bob Dylan covers.

I ordered whole grain toast and coffee from animated owner, Jib. The bread, first of all, is surprising to find in Chiang Khong. It was as European as it gets. He takes pride in his coffee and where he sources it. At B100 for both, it's a little pricey for the place, but the quality is there.

This place is far from the best in town. Not sure why it has so many good reviews. The food is ok but very average compared to the excellent Thai we ate elsewhere. We tried both the Mexican and Thai. The owner is really sweet however.

We stopped in for breakfast and was greeted by a very helpful and friendly man. He suggested we try the home made bread and bagels and they were delicious. We also tried the local coffee which was strong and fantastic. The owner was very welcoming and knows a lot about the region. We wish we had time to try the... More

We loved this place! The reggae decor and the very friendly, attentive owner made the evening fun and the food was delicious. It's open to the outdoors so if you're in shorts use some mosquito repellent. . Everything is homemade freshly from very good ingredients, takes a little while but it's worth the wait. Highly recommended!

We came here one evening in March and we went back again the next morning for breakfast. The food was fantastic, homemade and fresh. The lady who I believe owns the place is really lovely and has taken in a sweet dog that now sleeps on a mat near the entrance and gets lots of love. I feel bad for... More
