We came to stay at the Sabaidee homestay with Khamla and Vieng for two weeks, had our own bedroom and three DELICIOUS traditional Laos meals a day (which they kindly made vegetarian). During the day we volunteered with Khamla to help him finish building the...Bamboo Project's new school and helped teach the kids in the evenings. Was such a great experience all round and we learned lots of great skills. Not to mention Khamla and Vieng are so welcoming and their two kids are ADORABLE! We miss them all and will be going back to visit!More

The owner of this lovely restaurant and homestay happens to be a superfriendly and generous young man. He and his beautiful wife truly make you feel at home. My boyfriend and I had the luck to stay at Sabaidee for two wonderful weeks, tasting Mr...Khamla's delicious Lao food and playing with his always-smiling son. We had the chance to appreciate typical Lao food, different Thai dishes and occasionally western food. I loved Mr Khamla's yellow curry soup, d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. Sabaidee is also an English school that accepts volunteer fellows from all over the world. We personally gave lessons to children, nurses and monks. Overall, a precious and unforgettable experience! We really miss you, Khamla! Hope to see you again somewhere in this small world, Giulia and Fabris Ps: we will never forget your magic peanut sauce and mango sticky rice!More

Went here mor than once for food and tea. The prices are more than adequate and the food is great (vegan on request - which is not always easy to get most places, if you don't speak Laotian). This place is all about bringing positivity...and knowledge to the locals and everyone involved. Wether it's the kids learning from the volunteers or the other way around :) I was stunned to hear Kham La's story behind the project. For me it reflects what I saw in every corner of Laos and its people's smiling faces. Loved the peaceful and kind atmosphere. Definetaly recommended to stop by.More

Khamla and his wife Vieng run a homestay where the volunteers help teach English classes in small groups to the local children (for free). What an inspired, hardworking and generous family they are and such a delight to meet their baby son Jamie. We loved...visiting here. The menu is varied, good for veggies, freshly cooked and tasty. They even serve pastis! Recommended to visit.More

This restauraunt has the best food that I ate in Laos, a great place to explore Laos cuisine. Khamla and Vieng are great cooks. Khamla loves to share Laos culture and if you go while english classes are being held upstairs the kids will be...keen for a chat. Eating here is suporting the family who run free English lessons for the Islands children. Khamla speaks amazing English and the rest of the family are learning, even baby Jamie! Really great food in a beautiful setting on the Mekong. Highly reccommended!More

Very beautiful place, run by nice people. The food is amazing, I tried many dishes as I stayed there for one week with 3 meals per day. You will have a large choice ant it suits for vegetarians, as I am. You can also get...very good tips for your trip, as the owner speaks english and he knows plenty of things (he is an excellent guide). The last good reason to visit them is they do lot of voluntary activities like free english classes for the kids and a library, so you are welcome to come with a book, note books etc... Don't miss this place or you will regret it!More

I stayed two weeks with Khamla and his wife Vieng and their son Jamie. The teaching was challenging but so amazing. The kids are adorable and completely open minded. During the two weeks Khamla became my very good friend and teacher. He is honest and...he takes time for you so will always feel like part of the family and part of the project. A very hard-working man with many ideas and goals. During my stay we also went to the ricedield and helped cutting the rice for the family. The food is delicous by the way and there is always something different. Meet Khamla and make an amazing experience!More
