Fantastic restaurant in a lovely location overlooking Chania town. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. Lovely fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. Great choice of high quality dishes at very reasonable prices. Tried several different dishes off the menu and honestly cannot chose a favourite because they were all amazing.

Came here for dinner after reading good reviews. When we got here we were awestruck by the incredible post sunset view of the sea and horizon. We didn’t book, but luckily the restaurant was far from full and they had a table for us. We were told to scan a barcode and order online (very 2020!). We were happy to see they offered 4 courses for €19pp. Just to make it clear the 1st and 4th courses are very small and you do not get to choose them, but were pleasant and overall the meal was good value. 1st course was an assortment of bread, salsa, olives and one other dip. We ordered the village sausage and the graviera cheese flambé to start. Both were good - the sausages tasted very homemade and organic with quite a strong flavour (took me a few mouthfuls to get used to) and came with a really delicious side salad and dressing. The graviera flambé was set alight by the waiter, hence the flambé. The flambé part was very powerful and singed the poor blokes eyebrows, quite the spectacle! It was cooked well, tasted good and was accompanied by a nice raspberry sauce. For mains we had octopus and eggplant moussaka. The octopus was flavourful - however I would’ve preferred it more charred. The eggplant moussaka was tasty and indulgent - they were generous on the cheese. For the 4th course this was not a choice and was a very small chocolate mousse, accompanied by local spirit. Chocolate mousse was ok, nothing special. Would definitely come back here, but probably won’t as we are only in Crete for 10 days total and there are so many good tavernas! Definitely recommend though.

Theodosis restaurant has topped my list for the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. It was so delicious that for the entire time I was staying in Chania, I didn’t even consider going anywhere else as I knew I had to explore and try as many dishes on the menu as possible. My tastebuds were in heaven with every single bite I took. The staff were amazing, they were kind, attentive and clearly had the experience of the guests as a priority! They made us feel as though we were apart of their family and were quick to give recommendations of their favourites as well as were very flexible with any dietary restrictions. I am vegetarian and the menu had a wide range of dishes that were meat free, and still full of flavour. The prices were insanely fair, portions were more than needed which meant lunch the next day was going to be delicious! I encourage you to try out a variety of the dishes, but my favourites were the grilled vegetables, moussaka, stuffed zuchinni flowers and of course the tatziki (I literally could eat this by the bowl full) I would also recommend trying their cocktails as they had a variety of kinds to again, suit anyone’s preferences. They also offer a kids menu with fair prices, and still delicious for those travelling with kids. The restaurant clearly wanted to be a place for anyone with any pallet and a place where people felt welcomed and apart of a beautiful Greek family! You won’t regret eating here (and coming back every night after)!

We visited Theodosi restaurant last night and I just had to share my experience. My partner and I decided to take another friends couple as a thank you after a recommendation from some locals we know. We had the most incredible time!! The atmosphere was great.. The restaurant is located on a quite street with an amazing view of the sea. I would recommend visiting (event better reserve) during sunset time. Our waiter, Manolis, was very attentive, he knew the restaurant’s menu well and had some delicious recommendations for us. He also helped us deciding on a wine which most times is a tough one for us. Many thanks to the kitchen and all the floor staff!

Really lovely menu choice and good value for money (especially the four course for €20), made even better by the stunning sunset views.
Book a table and ask to be seated along the edge for the best views.
Portion sizes were huge, the starter felt almost like main course) so make sure you’re hungry when you arrive.
Only reason not giving 5 stars is because the service was quite slow, but other than that highly recommended

To the points;
Waiting 28 mins to be asked what to order and We complaint about it but kept the same disattendence for ordering the dessert. The good point is the waitress used corretly the mask in covid time
As far as food, it is tasty but small portions if we compared it to peer restaurants in Crete
What about dessert? We did order ice cream and was very standard. Not bad either good
The spot is a nice terrace and quite place if you want to get out of the noisy and crowded center
Is it worthy and value for money? I dont think so i would NOT come back AT ALL

I am so very sorry for the late attendance to your table. Please accept our apologies. I am happy you enjoyed our food, and outdoor patio. Yes, we follow all covid-19 rules and this means sometimes it will take a bit more time for us to get tasks done as we are constantly sanitizing our hands after each task, sanitizing serving trays, tables & chairs. This restaurant is a tourist trap. If you want some authentic Cretan food this is not the place. They relied on the beautiful setting overlooking the Cretan sea but everything else is a disaster.
The items we tried did not come even close to the overpriced tag.
The mussels were drenched in a white tasteless sauce. The Goat fricasse had no vegetables it was bland but the roasted potatoes were good. The lamb shank was tasteless with plenty of fat.
At the end of the overpriced meal there was not treat.
When we asked the waiter what happened to the “Tsikoudia” that every restaurant serves after dinner, the waiter with an attitude said- the price of the tsikoudia is very expensive.
Shame on them.

Fortunately for us we are NOT considered a tourist trap. We offer unique and creative Cretan dishes unique to Theodosi restaurant, at fair prices. We are proud of our recipes and final presentation, and have many loyal Greek and foreign customers who keep on coming back for more. For our after dinner treat, (our creativity strikes again) is a homemade Liquer, that we are very proud of, which includes ingredients such as local red wine, cretan herbs as well as tsikoudia, which you unfortunately did not accept as our offering. (the goat is served with local greens and not vegetables, thats how its made traditionally in Crete).

I visited Theodosi Restaurant twice during my stay in the Hotel Alexis.
Dinner was excellent with choices of modern and traditional Cretan dishes, at a great price.
Breakfast was amazing, everything you could ask for.

Food was delicious, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been. Try all the signature dishes, staff was second to none, and the food was coming in minutes. They have 4 waiters and 6 people in the kitchen, so the most personnel is under the curtain, but you can feel their presence from the fabulous service and professionalism.

Excellent quality food, good service and the prices are very reasonable. I felt very welcome from the stuff, fabulous tasty foods, exceptional chooses from the menu, good wines, beers and cocktails. We went there two times during our trip to la Canée. The waiters and waitresses are the nicest people ever, the food is absolutely delicious, fresh and local. There are so many options for vegeterians so it was really nice! Plus, the restaurant itself is so beautiful and has a pool inside!
We truly recommend going to Theodosi Restaurant, I can guarantee you won’t regret it!

Theodosi has a splendid terrace to watch the sun setting over the Rhodopos Peninsula. It is a great place for a cocktail and the food there is some of the best we have tasted in Chania - and we live here all year round.
Manolis the head waiter runs an excellent team, friendly, efficient, unobtrusive yet always ready to respond to your needs.
The dishes are innovative, the flavours delicately balanced and the whole beautifully presented.
Try the phylo rolls with wild mushrooms, pork sausage and Cretan cheeses. The sweet and sour sauce has an intriguing pelargonium scent.

Came for a sunset birthday dinner and was treated like royalty - food is absolutely delicious and very good price for the quality. I received a suprise birthday present from the restaurant which was incredibly sweet. The staff are lovely people and the views amazing, highly recommend

This was amongst the best restaurants I’ve been to in recent years. Unlike the majority of the local restaurants offering very similar menus - it was quickly apparent that the chefs here wanted to do their own thing. You can instantly tell they took pride in the creativity of their dishes whilst ensuring to tip their hats to Cretan traditional dishes and ingredients. We would recommend travelers to go out their way for this place. The atmosphere was wonderful (a beautiful sunset view) and to top it off the staff had all their covid secure procedures down to a tee.

The hotel is great with outstanding views of the bay in one direction and snow capped mountains the other. All the staff without exception are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant that forms part of the hotel is outstanding offering great food along with fantastic views and stunning sunsets every night. We went half board and couldn’t believe that we ate from the same menu as full paying customers every night. You can walk into Chania old town over the dunes and along the coast in about 30 mins, and along the coast in the opposite direction to a lovely stretch of beach which, if you walk to the end gives great views of the bay, town, and mountains. Couldn’t fault this place at all.
