Good food, good beer, and a warm atmosphere.

We called into this pub whilst travelling to Winchester from the South West. It is a lovely, characterful thatched pub with many steps, so would not be easy accessible for less abled. We were very warmly welcomed by the barmaid and landlord. When we said we wanted to eat, we were advised that a... read more

Excellent food and real ale. The starter of Risotto with Smoked Haddock lemon & herbs was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The main course of Slow roasted Duck leg, cassoulet of chorizo & pancetta butterbean purée & braised red cabbage was a real pleasure of flavours that worked really well together. Service and atmosphere was also very good. Overall a... More

We ate at the Masons Arms on Saturday night as we were staying the Shepherd Hut. The service and the food were excellent. We ordered bread and olives to start and for our mains, I ordered fish pie off the specials menu, and my fiancé ordered the burger off the normal menu. The bread and olives were extremely good value... More

Often go for Sunday Lunch which is always tasty although rather overpriced and also costs a £1 more for beef ? Went for lunch yesterday, fish chips and peas £13.00!! also tried to order ribs but they weren't cooked , this was at 1.15 pm . A little disappointing .

Make sure you look out this pub when you venture out to Ham Hill. The food is excellent and it even has its own micro brewery :-) With the usual pub for Ham Hill walking bursting at the seems we looked around and found this one. Well worth the little detour. Very welcoming. Great lunchtime menu. Best chips for a... More

My husband decided at the last minute to go out for a meal on Christmas Eve, so I booked a table at the masons arms as we had both been before so we knew we were making a good choice. On arriving we were a little early but the friendly barman pointed us in the direction of our table advising... More

We stayed in an associated holiday cottage and ate in the pub on their 1970s taster menu night. All eight courses! Loved the Bloody Mary with a twist.

It was our first visit with friends for a birthday meal. 4/5 choices of each on menu plus specials. Own brewed ale. Low beams if over 6" tall. Recommend.
