We recently visited this restaurant, and it was terrible. Tired and worn out furniture, poor quality food. This place used to be good when we lived in Cottonwood Heights a few years ago. But it’s really gone downhill in every possible way. Poor communication with...the server. She didn’t really understand what we were asking for and had to go get someone to interpret. Stay away from this place!More

This restaurant changed owners and the food went downhill. HOWEVER, they have hired a new chef and the food is fabulous again. We love the walnut shrimp, house fried rice, lemon chicken (ask for more sauce) and house lo-mein noodles. Great options for lunch, also....Great for the entire family!!More

After being closed for Covid for several months Dragon Isle is open again for takeout and delivery. They have added an on-line order option (which I could not get to work) and still do phone orders. We are so glad they are open again, we...though with the long shut down that they might not survive, but they opened for take out last week, and we reallly mised their excellent food. When you show up, the outer door is open to a little entry area, but inner door is locked. They have the takeout orders waiting there and if you did not pay alreay via credit card, they will take cash. We especially like their hot and sour soup- and also the house special lo mein and kung pao chicken, but everything we have had there is good. Orders are ready in 10-15 minutes after you call in, which is about how long it takes for us to drive there. Dining room will be closed for a while longer I guess, but I hope they can survive doing take out and delivery.More

We’ve visited many times and finally got round to writing this. One of the best pan fried noodles we’ve tasted and we always order it (what the Cantonese called “two sides yellow”). This visit we also tried a new special - French style beef steak....It was delicious! Great service as always.More

A friend suggested Dragon Isle for take out after a late afternoon early evening working with family to get ready for a yard sale. We ordered on line and since it was late and we did not want to drive and sit this time. The...food was hot and ready even with us being there 10 minutes early. We ordered 5 entrees to share with a container of white rice thrown in for free and we can have a buffet style dinner for the next day or two! The manager was very personable and thanked us for our business. We have to do a sit down next time to see if it is as good as our take out.More

We've been coming here about 2-3 times per year since around 2000. The food has always been good, the location clean, and the service nice.

Egg drop soup served cold - had to send it back. Cold plates on ceramic table sucked heat out of main course dishes. Order of chicken with cashews had few nuts, lottsa vegetables, macerated lumps of unappetizing white meat - one step up from tofu....I guess you get what you pay for: $45 for five people for dinner. Phone-in orders seemed to take precedence over diners in the restaurant. Counter man was on the phone a lot - implying not enough staff.More

The food is decent. It is in a strip mall next to Smith's. There are no other options that are close to this area. For chinese food I would give it a 7 or 8

I had Mongolian beef, it came with noodles, salad, fried rice, shrimp and of course not to spicy beef. It was plentiful and very tasty. The portion was large so I took the leftovers home for dinner.

The sweet and sour chicken and beef with pea pods are favorites of mine. They also are great at packing it up for pick up.

First, I recognize that taste is subjective, unique to each person. Having said that, we were all disappointed with our last visit to Dragon Isle. The Char Shu was more gelatinous than pork, i.e. barbecued pork fat does not usually qualify as barbecued pork. The...Pepper Beef was similarly more fat than beef. This cheapening of meat is not difficult to detect. When it quivers on the fork, it is fat. When it is stiffer or flops instead of jiggles, it is meat. We all observed that the meat was more fat than meat, pork and beef. Usually, we order more than enough to enjoy left-overs. At the conclusion of our meal, there were multiple plates with food left on them. That included the plates we were eating from and the plates served by the restaurant. No one wanted the left overs... not one person. That says it all. If you have low standards for Chinese food, you may not be disappointed. We, on the other hand, have eaten at many good Chinese restaurants, which do not include Dragon Isle. Out next trip for Chinese will be to a different restaurant.More

The lunch menu here is very good. There are many different choices, some hot, as well as mild. Whatever is ordered comes with soup, small salad & choice of appetizer. Lots of food, good service & lunch price that is right!

The S and S chicken is fantastic , not little pieces of chicken highly breaded ,but full boneless skinless breasts covered in great sweet and sour and breaded lightly. The staff is great and Steve is the best. We would recommend the Dragon Isle to...anyone . We live currently in St. George , but make it a point to come to SLC to have dinner here as there are no Chinese restaurants worth eating at in St George. The fried shrimp is also greatMore
