First, I recognize that taste is subjective, unique to each person. Having said that, we were all disappointed with our last visit to Dragon Isle.
The Char Shu was more gelatinous than pork, i.e. barbecued pork fat does not usually qualify as barbecued pork. The...Pepper Beef was similarly more fat than beef. This cheapening of meat is not difficult to detect. When it quivers on the fork, it is fat. When it is stiffer or flops instead of jiggles, it is meat. We all observed that the meat was more fat than meat, pork and beef.
Usually, we order more than enough to enjoy left-overs. At the conclusion of our meal, there were multiple plates with food left on them. That included the plates we were eating from and the plates served by the restaurant. No one wanted the left overs... not one person.
That says it all.
If you have low standards for Chinese food, you may not be disappointed. We, on the other hand, have eaten at many good Chinese restaurants, which do not include Dragon Isle.
Out next trip for Chinese will be to a different restaurant.More
