The primary attraction is the “all you can eat” pricing. If you have a big appetite and love sushi, this is a good value. Read the menu carefully to understand the terms of the pricing...because there are terms. The sushi itself is midrange in quality....Some visits have had some truly wonderful offerings. Other visits, not so much. The owner is often behind the counter preparing the sushi. Get on his good side, and he will take good care of you. Make the mistake I made (questioning the apparent use of imitation crab in a roll) and you will know his displeasure.More

I am always a firm believer that you know a restaurant is good when it's packed. That being said, I should have known something was off when my group was one of only 4 groups in the restaurant...at 7pm on a Saturday night. I ordered...veggie tempura, maguro nigri, and a yellowtail roll. The "veggie" tempura was two slices of regular potato and two slices of sweet potato. They were burnt and tasted more like french fries than tempura. Super disappointing. The maguro was alright. It tasted fresh but could have been cut slightly thicker given the mountain of rice it was served on. The yellowtail roll was about 90% rice and was already falling apart by the time it arrived. Basically, I couldn't tell the different between the sushi at Sushi Ya and the sushi sold at the Smiths up the road. The service was incredibly slow, even for a night where we were one of only 4 tables. The waitress disappeared for about an hour and it took us 2.5 hours to eat and leave. I will not be coming back.More

My husband and I went with a friend to lunch at Sushi Yah that is located in our neighborhood. They make their sushi fresh and we enjoyed lunch special they offer. They have a delightful selection of sushi, their miso soup is delicious and they...have great service.More

This is our favorite restaurant for sushi. The chef is always friendly and fun tho talk to. I haven't tried anything there I haven't liked. Even if you don't like sushi, they have a pretty good teriyaki bowl. The only thing I would change, is...I wish the lemon on the sunrise roll were sliced a little thinner.More

For an all-you-can-eat sushi place this place was really good. For $20 you got plenty of sushi, plenty of choices and the service and the cleanliness of the place is really good. I would definitely come back here again.

Freshness is the key word in this place, every roll that we tried was really good, other options available if you're not looking for sushi, for example Bento Box. Both sushi chefs are friendly and they know what they do. Don't forget your Sapporo 😉

The food was ok- I had the shrimp tempura roll that was good and an avocado roll that had no flavor. My son had the Mountain and a Rainbow- his were HUGE. but the ambience was strange- we didn't realize it was an "all you...can eat" until we pulled up but since each item was individually priced we don't know what they mean by "all you can eat" because it usually means a fixed price. The place was empty, the server seemed new and although she was nice, she didn't know the names of the items and literally took my son's plate while he was eating his last piece. My husband had the tempura combo plate (he hates sushi) and it was ok. Our meal, with tea and one lemonade was 50.More

On those nights we don't feel like making a big deal of dinner or waiting a long time for a meal we will head up to Sushi Yah. The quality of the ingredients are good and fresh. They offer a lot of dishes with "krab"...which we avoid. Knowing what to order makes a big difference as well. The owners/chefs are there all the time and make some amazing rolls. The sides are good as well. A decent value, particularly if you are hungry as it is an "all-you-can eat" format.More

My husband and I went in here for lunch after a long morning walking, and it hit the spot. It was quiet and calm on a Saturday early afternoon (around 11 a.m.), and lots of space to choose from. The music wasn't so loud to...drown out the silence, and the chef was quick and made everything fresh to order (we could watch him from where we were). We got the All You Can Eat sushi lunch special, around $20/person but it was definitely worth it. The lemon-chili roll was unique and I've never had it in any other place, and the other rolls (typical tuna, salmon, unagi, avocado, etc.) were crispy and still fresh. We had beers with our meal and it helped wash everything down so we could stuff more food in our bellies. The chef came over after he saw we were done and just chatted with us about why we were in town, what we were doing today, and some stories about living in Japan before moving to Utah 20 years ago. An amazing experience all around.More
