We booked here as a afterthought but what a find . We were met at door and taken to our seats immediately. This restaurant's decor is quaint and unique lovely. It is one if the beat places we have eaten in a long time . Service was excellent staff were well trained and efficient. I feel we were so lucky... More

A friend and I spent a long weekend in and around Clonakilty, and ended up by chance staying in Rosscarbery! What a find! On the Saturday night we were turned away from O'Callaghan Walshe's as they were fully booked, so we made a booking for the Sunday evening to make sure we got a place. I've never been a fan... More

The range of food and the quallity of food and wine here was excellent as with a couple of other local establishments, such as Pilgrims. Luckily, some of the party we went with had been there before so there was a little local knowledge but staff were courteous, knew their stuff and were helpful. I'd recommend the squid starter myself... More

Back to O'Callaghan Walshe for the first time in 11 years and our host remembered us! (and not for the wrong reasons!) Still the same charming ambience, personalised service and stunning food! I went for the crab salad starter and fillet steak, Kate went for the smoked salmon, asparagus and egg, followed by the scampi. Everything superlative - the salad... More

Although I hadn't booked the staff welcomed me and served me on one of the tables outside. An exquisite crab salad washed down with a nice crispy white wine recommended by the attentive waitress was followed by an excellent strawberries, creamice cream and biscuit dish that I couldn't resist. The only thing that marred my meal was a persistent wasp,... More

We first visited this newly opened restaurant in 1992. It was a memorable evening in a lovely setting with the freshest fish and some terrific wines. I recall a conversation with Sean, the proprietor, about the variety of seafood available locally as well as his penchant for sourcing quality wines from less well known vineyards. 24 years later we again... We had a perfect evening here in August. We had booked a few weeks in advance. Both myself & my husband had 3 courses each and none could be faulted. Between us we had crab, fish cakes, scampi, turbot, their version of the Eton mess and an Italian dessert( I can't remember the name) all delicious. Sean the proprietor was... More

We were in Rosscarbery, and ended up here for lunch. The open prawn sandwich had large prawns which were very good quality. For €9.50 I had expected the small ones that you often see, so this was a pleasant surprise. I had "Moules frites" (mussels and chips) which were cooked perfectly in a lovely white wine cream sauce with a... More
