Nilo (owner) makes you feel right at home. Service is a bit slow (like everywhere in Tuscany) but waiters are honest about their preferences on the menu. A bit pricey but worth it. Order pasta instead of the meat. No desert.

I had pasta with funghi, big portion, little bit too salty for me, had a veal, just ok, tender, but not enough salty & little bit dry. It's said to be one of the best in town, but I found it just OK. Not bad, but not special either.

Excellent food and service -- generous portions and the staff could not be more friendly. Specially recommend the lamb chops!

We dined at Da Nilo twice during our stay, and both times every dish was delicious. The pasta here is excellent, freshly made with flavoursome ragus and sauces. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the tagliatelle with meat sauce. In true Tuscan style, the meat courses were also exceptional . The tagliata and the veal were... More

There is wonderful food to be had in Cetona - Nilo serves delicious Tuscan fare and we had a memorable meal there - but if you have lunched well and need a lighter meal for evening, the (somewhat confusingly named) Osteria Vecchio da Nilo OR Pizzeria and Hamburgheria da Nilo - offers a fine alternative. We had delicious pizza there... More

We (5) took a local recommendation and dropped in on a weeknight during a cool rain. The staff quickly whisked away our wet coats and seated us in the main dining room. We were quickly served one of the best meals we enjoyed during our two weeks plus in Tuscany/Umbria. House bottles of red wine, fairly priced, were a nice... More

This was undoubtedly one of the best meals of our trip. I am still regretting that I didn't order the dish that my husband did (bolognese) and I can't wait to go back one day so that I can order it. I still daydream about that dish.

Have been eating at Nilo's excellent restaurant for some time now and each time it is a pleasure. The restaurant's low key elegance is always appealing but the real draw is the excellent food and the warm welcome that never fails to deliver, time and time again. I was last here with my daughter for dinner. It was the first... More

Spent a morning learning so much from the lovely cooks! We made everything for the restaurant's dinner. We laughed and learned lots! Then we had a wonderful meal to sample our cooking! An experience I shall never forget!
