Delicious food

We had previously visited early morning to have coffees and enjoyed our visit so much that we returned for dinner. Our meal was so lovely. We were brought an appetiser by the chef and then we shared the spinach croquetas, squid steam buns, hake in adobo and naan tacos. All were delicious and beautifully presented. The young lady who served us was very attentive and explained each dish to us showing expert knowledge in the ingredients. I highly recommend visiting for their exciting tapas menu and great service.

A hybrid tapas sensation in Old Town Korcula

The food and service at Ignis were exceptional - both world class! We were so lucky to stumble across this place for dinner - the best food we ate during our 2 weeks in Croatia. Owned and operated by a Croatian and a Spanish chef, the tapas was a unique and delightful combination of the best of both cuisines. Our waiter was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about both the food and wine. 100% would recommend if you appreciate fine food and wine in a relaxed and beautiful environment.

Simply the Best Restaurant in Korčula Town!

I was on my way to another restaurant when the menu of this place caught my eye as I walked by. It was so different from anything else on the island that I made a spontaneous decision to give it a try—and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the ham croquettes and the tempura eggplant, which was served with honey and goat cheese. The eggplant was absolutely divine—truly one of the best dishes I've ever had. I never knew something could taste so heavenly! I doubt I'll eat anywhere else in town from now on. If you're in Korčula, do yourself a flavor and dine here. You won't regret it—this is a reasonably priced quality choice.

The quality of the food would not have been bad if there had been food! Microscopic portions, octopus salad for 18 euros, dish consisting of no more than 30 grams of vegetables and 5 grams of octopus, or 10 thin sheets like octopus wafers. This restaurant will have a Michellin Star one day. The service is perfect. The menu is tapas style so we tried 6 dishes and every single one was served on an interesting and unique plate. Everything was absolutely delicious. Everything was unique and inventive. Everything could have been a winning dish on Top Chef (except for the chorizo which was delicious but was just sliced chorizo). This could easily have been a tasting menu in a finer restaurant. This was probably our favorite meal in 10 nights in Croatia. We liked it so much we each independently stopped to tell the chef/owners on our way back from the WC. Do yourself a favor and eat here if you are in Korcula.

We had no idea what to expect when we randomly stopped past this lovely little tapas restaurant on a quiet side street. What a find, 7 courses of pure delight. Absolutely delicious with great service. Highly recomend! It's not the cheapest option but well worth it - this place punches well above it's weight.

Something to avoid in Korčula if you want to eat delicious food and not stay hungry despite ordering several courses. Price - value = 0. I still cannot understand the good reviews as the quality of food was really bad - it just wasn't tasty but overpriced. I won't criticize the size of servings as this is a tapas bar which is fine...but what has been served was unfortunately just leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Service is ok although we have been charged with a bottle of water we have not ordered but we assume it wasn't on intention.

Dearest Gabriela, Thank you very much for your review. Fortunately we have a chance to respond on such a review of our small Tapas bar. Let's break it down to some facts! 1 st . It is hard for us to imagine that the last 20 reviews are 5 star reviews and yours is 1 star, mostly because past rewievs have been indeed regarding food and service, describing some of the dishes in details and giving a more reasonable critic than yours ( we are refering to "something to avoid in Korčula and "leaving a bad taste in your mouth". 2. We do not mind you giving us a 1 star review mostly targeting the quality of the food, we simply cannot accept your review just because there is so many satisfied people leaving our Tapas bar. 3. We are giving our best to provide a good experience and service to the guest, spending days and nights to prepare it, we are aware that mistakes can happen and that there will be guests who are not going to like what we do, but believe me that the standard of the food is always the same. 5. We politely ask you to provide us with the bill that says that the waitress charged you a bottle of water that you have not ordered. ( even if it has happened by mistake we would return you the money at the time, if you just said something) 4. Next time please inform the waitres that you don't like any of the food and give a more precise explanation of what exactly you did not like, because at the moment it seems that you had something against our place. Got the WOW factor!

Tried this place for a light lunch and was intrigued so went back for dinner. Well WOW ! Not just good but exciting. Real attention to detail and some stunning dishes like the cuttlefish and crackers with squid ink,dreamy and light agnolotti with mushroom foam and a delightful surprise- beef cheeks with beetroot. Ending with a feather light brioche with a cream and light sorbet. Really caring and naturally proud service. We had the chef’s selection and honestly the whole experience was a delight and incredible value. Totally recommend.

Great find on a rainy morning walk

This is a beautiful, charming, delicious find as we searched for a spot for breakfast out of the rain. All fresh ingredients, prepared right in front of us (pouring rain outside). We had the pancakes and avocado toast, people beside us had the smoothies and felt the same, Fantastic! My husband thinks these were the best pancakes he has ever had! The staff, meticulous in their food prep and presentation as well as lovely people!

We had the great good fortune to be taken to this fabulous place by friends who live on the island. Tapas with a Croatian twist just work on every level...we ate dishes made with things we don't usually eat just because they were so tempting and so good. The eggplant in tempura and honey were exceptionally good. Service was of such a high standard, we felt so well taken care of and the atmosphere was so wonderful, nestled in the little streets of Korcula Old Town. Wine selection was perfect for the food too. We spent an evening at this terrific little restaurant a couple of days ago. Billed as a Croatian twist on Spanish tapas, the food is created by a team led by a Spanish and a Croatian chef and the menu is clearly designed to make the most of local ingredients while favouring a modern and playful Spanish approach. Don't let the 'tapas' tag fool you, this is fine dining. We had the chef's menu, which worked out at about £80 for the two of us when you add in focaccia and a glass each of good local red. So, top value for money. The menu comprised eight small plates: seven savoury and one sweet dish. Each was distinctive, clever and delicious. There are so many highlights here that we'd waste all day going through them individually (although the cuttlefish with cauliflower two ways is worth a special mention, it was surprising and stunningly delicious). Our waiter Joven explained each dish as he delivered it to the table. He paced the meal perfectly. Three hours felt like it passed in no time. As with all really talented professional cooks, the amount of food was just right. We finished the repast feeling satisfied but not unable to move! The really exciting thing is that there are a number of dishes on the small menu that weren't among those we ate, so we have already resolved to return before we leave to ensure we've eaten them all. This meal was a stand-out and worth the trip to Korcula (such a lovely place) just to eat at Ignis. Bravo!

While the food was tasty, it was overpriced and the portions were quite small. The fish sizes did not even rise to the level of laughable. We mentioned something to the waiter, but he just nodded and left. After a few bites, we went to another restaurant for lunch. We did not expect to pay Singapore, New York, or London prices in Korcula.

Dear Sir, We regret to hear that you were unhappy with our Tapas Bar. Unfortunately we are unable to please all of our guests, but we must say that you had 2 dishes and 2 glasses of wine for 160 Croatia Kuna which equals 20 euros. You were also told that portions are smaller because at our place to be full you must order 3-4 dishes per person, it is the concept and the experience that we try to provide for our guests and it is unfortunate that even with knowing these facts you decide to write this kind of review. Korčula indeed is quite expensive but if you consider that restaurants work 4 months and the rents and expenses are sky high it is no wonder that guests have to pay the price. You found yourself having vacation on a very touristic place in times where products,electricity and other things reach max prices. We have to work with those things in mind, othervise all of us work for nothing, Consider this next time you eat at the restaurant or any other place! Best Regards

Lovely breakfast at Ignis

We had breakfast in Ignis and it was great. Both focaccia sandwiches and the granola fruit bowl were tasty and carefully prepared and served. Service was excellent, friendly and professional- our waiter informed us ahead of ordering of the potential delay due to the busy period (which actually wasn’t that long). We recommend the visit!

One of these places you just don’t expect to find on a small island. The chefs, a Spanish/Croatian couple have designed the tastiest of dishes - also vegetarians will really find new flavors. A must when in Korcula.

Stunning Food

This was such a pleasant surprise... We tried to go to another restaurant which was fully booked but the chef recommended Ignis and we were so happy that he did. We opted for the chefs menu and all the food was absolutely stunning. I would come back to Korcula just to eat at this restaurant again. I would recommend this to any foodies if you want great food and also a fine dining experience in a casual setting.
