We stayed here for 4 days, eating in the Bistro on 2 evenings and in the restaurant for the other nights. Both were excellent with good variety and sizeable portions to refuel after a day on the hills. Both wine lists are impressive and the staff are on hand to offer advice if needed. Worth booking......!

We visited The Fell restaurant to celebrate a special occasion after being recommended by friends and were nit disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the staff who were extremely helpful with helping check which menu items were suitable for one of our party who is gluten intolerant. The food was wonderful, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Thank you for... More

Ate here on a Saturday night, not very busy. Great to have British fare and well presented as well. Service friendly, and correct.

from the moment you take an aperitif in the lounge (with canapes provided), while choosing from the set menu, then the transfer to the dining room, through to the supply of the excellently cooked courses, and the subsequent digestif/coffee back in the lounge, this is a really relaxed experience.

The whole experience was perfect Relaxed by cosy fire in lounge with pre dinner drinks and again with after dinner coffee. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was superb. My first choice for our next dinner out

This is our fourth visit to the Pheasant in Bathenthwaite and the first time for dinner. We struggled to get a table as it was busy ... .Food as usual was excellent, selection of meals for grandchildren was impressive, and the table service was good. Don't miss this old established eatery if you are in the area.

Great food with wonderful service. The meals were all very well presented. You may want to skip a starter unless you are feeling very hungry. We failed to finish our main courses on all three evenings. We therefore never got to try dessert. The wines while not cheap were of a very good standard for the price. Well worth trying.

We arrived at the Pheasant Inn on a cold wet night in January. Inside there was a warm and welcoming bar with a fire going, and the entrance to the Bistro. We had a very good dinner. The fish was well cooked, followed by a chocolate dessert. The Bistro has a lively relaxed atmosphere and you can order local beer... More

I've never been to The Pheasant despite it being on my wish-list for years. However today we went for lunch and it was exceptional. You're taken very good care of with drinks being ordered from the lounge before going into the restaurant. A cosy and comfortable setting, the place is very old and has character. But on to the food.... More
