We order only appetizers and they were great. I order the Chorizo al Vino and the octopus salad; both great and perfectly presented; the service is always an extraordinary experience with Mr. Traviezo in charge.

Puerto Rican food at its best. They make an excellent mofongo and is prepared in several fashions. Rice with seafood, rice with chicken, Asopao all excellent. If you love spicy food they have a special sauce that is very very hot. If you eat ghost or habaneros then you will not be dissapointed with it.

The food at Don Pepe's was delicious asks fresh. I ordered the rice with seafood and my husband the rice with chicken and both were delicious! The mango smoothie with alcohol was like eating fruit off the tree. The rice was actually made fresh which made the wait time a little longer than we're accustomed to but we're on vacation... More

This place is absolutely great! The food looked too good to eat, but we're glad we did. Unfortunately we didn't eat here until our last night in Puerto Rico. If we'd gone earlier we certainly would have gone back. In addition to the best food we had on this trip, the service was fast and friendly. Evert aspect of the... More

Loved the old wood and comfortable bar, with a historic feel in the bar and restaurant area. It appears small from the outside, but there is actually a second level which gives them lots more room. The food was great and a lot of "character" for a bar!

Stayed at Wyndham rio grande which is literally 2 minutes drive from Don pepes. Food great. Mojotos tasty and strong but best part was the service. A+++. Even waitress that wasn't ours was very friendly and accommodating. Prices very reasonable too and food= muahhh. If you're in rio grande for any reason. = look them up. I will be back.

My son and I are here at recommendation of taxi driver. Good advice! The gumbo was delicious. Service was a tad slow but it was Sunday night and the place was hopping.

The service was poor, we ordered some appetizers and the food at the same time, we waited for more than an hour for the appetizers. The food came 2 minutes after the appetizers, we couldn't even finish it. One of the plates looked like they throw everything on the plate, some of the meat was rare when it was not... More

Came here to try the pastelon. Was not disappointed. Great flavor and worth a second visit when in the area. Everything else was also good and a good value.

Prices were reasonable depending on what you ordered. The staff was great and helpful. Servings are huge so come in hungry! I ordered the Arroz con pollo with ensalada (amarillo) and couldn't finish it at all. My fiance ordered the fried milanesa with cheese and coconut rice (I stole a good amount of his rice) and he finished my meal... More

Description
Authentic Puerto Rican & Cuban Food. Many people write about it in their reviews of the Rio Mar in Rio Grande, PR. I would love to write a review about this place as it was the best Mofungo (fried mashed plantains) we had in PR (and we tried it in 4 restaurants).
