Had a good time with wonderful service, but the food was just okay. The chicken had a taste that indicated the oil in the deep fryer need to be changed. I'm sure other nights it would have been better. Overall, it is a nice restaurant.

We found this restaurant online as we were were taking a drive outside the Gran Melia hotel property. It got good reviews from Trip Advisor so we decided to give it shot. We were so glad we did! We were a party of 5 and the downstairs was really full. So the hostess seated us upstairs and we were the... More

When I travel I want to experience local flavour. Reviews indicated Don Pepe's would fit the bill. The first thing I noticed was that it was a small restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and the prices seemed reasonable. I had the fish of the day, grouper, with coconut rice. The fish was delicious as was the rice. The mixed... More

I have visited Don Pepe over the years and always feel like coming back! The yuca mofongo with ceviche unbelievably tasteful. The churrasco is very good and tender. The Sangria is a must! My "kid's", now adults, always have the red snapper and it is very well cooked, the presentation is so inviting, and best of all very well seasoned.... More

Stopped for lunch before checking in at Rio Mar. Ordered burritos for the two of us. Big mistake as one would have fed both of us. Took almost a whole home. Everything was good including margaritas. Try and enjoy.

Thisbwas the perfect local dining experience! It si quaint local cuisine restaurant. Visitors to this island may be shocked bybits small size, but the taste in all thier dishes is larger that you can imagine. At least two waitresses were fully bilingual, the others new enough English to suggets food. But yiu can always get a drin by saying Medalla... More

Been going to this place for years, and is always good. Service is as good as the food and the enviroment is very friendly and happy. I order a salmon filet top with crab, it was delicious.

The service here is great. The mofongo is even better! They offer plantain, yuca or tre (green plantain, sweet plantain and yuca) mofongo. The tremofongo was AMAZING!

I went there with my 4 kids recently. Once I was seated I told them I had bought an offer with Gustazos, the waiter scanned it and came back to ask what we wanted to drink. After that didn't see him again. Then another waitress passed by explained the different options we had, took our order and trip over the... More

Description
Authentic Puerto Rican & Cuban Food. Many people write about it in their reviews of the Rio Mar in Rio Grande, PR. I would love to write a review about this place as it was the best Mofungo (fried mashed plantains) we had in PR (and we tried it in 4 restaurants).
