Staff is very friendly, and the décor is eclectic, from Jazz concert's posters, to Red Sox jerseys, and the like. Interesting place. The food is "criolla" with all the flavors of the Island. Good food, good prices, very courteous staff ... The downside: it was to slow. Partially our fault, since we waited for appetizers to order our main course,... More

We went like and hour before the closing. We tought they will give us a bad service because it was too late, and we really love our experience. There was live jazz music, very good and fast service. We will come back.

This place was recommended to us by a friend. I was a bit curious of checking the place out in my past few visits to the island but had not had a chance to, needless to say we went and we loved it! My wife had the Mofongo with steak and God it was good! I had the regular fried... More

I didn't like the food. My "amarillos" we're over cooked. The rice the taste was like vegetables. The Sangria is good though. The place needs some improvements and the stairs were like hell. I'm not going again ever.

Went to Don Pepe's for lunch after El Yunque. The prices were high and we were thinking about leaving when I asked about lunch specials. They had three and they were all much cheaper than the menu items. We had the specials with coffee. The special was very pork, rice, beans, and a little bit of salad. The food was... More

You may see this little restaurant off the side on a road and not want to stop, STOP NOW!! I ordered some alcapurias and then had some chicken guisado. Man, this had to be some of the better Puerto Rican food I've had on the island so far. You will not regret stopping to eat here, that I can guarantee.

We took our kids - ages 12-8 - there for dinner. It was a little expensive ($$$), but the food was very good and they offered a lot of variety. The wait staff was courteous and helpful.

It's a small and cozy restaurant that delivers big portions. I had the chuleta can can with coconut rice and it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. If you want a true taste of Puerto Rican cuisine, you must come here!

Quite simply, this restaurant ranks as one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in. The food is superb and extremely well made with good prices. The atmosphere is lovely and has a feeling of home in it. The waiters were kind and ready to help whenever they were needed. The food also came out relatively... More

Description
Authentic Puerto Rican & Cuban Food. Many people write about it in their reviews of the Rio Mar in Rio Grande, PR. I would love to write a review about this place as it was the best Mofungo (fried mashed plantains) we had in PR (and we tried it in 4 restaurants).
