We have been to Puerto Rico at least 20 times. This the best food I have ever had in Puerto Rico. I know they are known for breakfast and lunch but our dinner experience was outstanding. It was raining really hard and staff met us at our car with umbrellas. Inside is not large but it is cozy, has a full bar and often live music. First, the margarettas were made to order. We had 4 different dishes, pasta and shrimp, salmon with coconut rice, red snapper with coconut rice and octopus mofungo. Everyone said their food was amazing. I had the mofugo and I like spicy food. The chef made a special sauce for me that was exceptional and nice and spicy without being overdone. There was an abundance of octopus as well. The portions are large and to top off the experience it is very reasonably priced. A must visit if staying anywhere between San Juan and Fajardo. We will be going again before our time here is done.

This place is always busy so you have to wait a while unless you choose to pick up your meal instead of table dining. It is not as pricey as competitor Lluvia Deli and items were creative and attractive, however I felt as if something was missing, at least where my selection was concerned(Arepas Benedict). Our server(I don't recall her name) was nice and patient. For some reason our breakfast took longer to be ready despite other diners having being seated lately and already enjoying their meals, even so this place is beautiful and deserves another visit

We were staying at the St Regis near Rio Grande and took an uber to this place for breakfast given that St Regis charges a whooping $30 for an eggs benedict and we also wanted to try local food. Totally worth it. This place is fairly priced and the quality of the food and service is worth a 5 star review. We had the arepas benedict and an omelete dish, but the highlight of the menu was the dulce de leche french toast 😋

We went for brunch on a Friday morning and my family of 4 (including 2 kids- 6 & 4) were not impressed. My eggs were overcooked, pancakes tasted dry and weird (compared to what we are used to in Northeast). Also, we got lemonade for kids ($5 each seemed excessive) and neither kid liked it. To be fair, they tasted fresh squeezed, but they were very sour and were not worth the price. I wanted to like the place, as their dinner options sounded good. But after a poor breakfast, I couldn’t justify returning for a dinner.

We would give this place 10 stars if we could. This was the BEST restaurant experience we had during our week in Puerto Rico. We appriciate how much thoughtfulness and care went into creating this restaurant experience. The food was outstanding - so much flavor! And the plates always ended up being so much more food than we expected :) even the Tapas! Not to mention how affordable it all was. We came here for brunch and we loved it so much we decided to come back for dinner. We really appreciated that each waiter we had was not only attentive and caring but also shook our hands towards the end. How lovely is that? It was clean, everything we ate was delicious, people were friendly and kind, we were always seated right away. Please do yourself a favor and make a stop here if you're visiting Rio Grande!

This is an upscale and well maintained place. I found the menu to be a bit upscale for my taste (more Metro than PR authentic) but if you’re looking for variety it’s a good fit and the prices are very fair and the staff is very friendly. I had the snapper and it was not among the best I’ve had.

Just left the restaurant very disappointed after waiting more than 40 minutes for the host to seat people who arrived after us. The host didn't want to admitted until the end when she told us "She couldn't do anything for us". Her reply was just unacceptable as she could have amend her mistake in any way. this is not the first time she attended us (she know who we are) Since we didn't notice any actions on her part we told her we would not come back. To what she just replied by a "sho" "go away" gesture with her hands. You may check your footage for today after 11:30am We loved the place. This was our fourth time visiting in under a month that and this time we call and came with more people. As you may imagine, this situation ruined our morning. BTW we are locals from Rio Grande but I guess we'll look for a new brunch place to make it our new favorite brunch place.

Like this place so much we went here for breakfast three times. The arepas benedict was a terrific spin on eggs Benedict. The scrambled eggs were prepared just right. The coconut pancakes (off menu special) was great and didn’t need syrup. The duche de leche French toast was not too sweet. The coffee and chai latte were both excellent and we have been craving them since we got home. Mary’s was out waitress all three mornings and knew how to take care of us. A great find in an unassuming local setting reasonably priced.

It took almost an hour just to received some prosciutto with bruschettas. After 1.5 hours still one of our mofongos with octopus didnt arrived. After plate was cancelled we were told that apparently it was cooked with the incorrect sauce. 1.5 hour later, because plate was cancelled, reason for delay was given. Still, we ordered som empanadas, a chicken wrap and it took more than hour just to get those. Really slow and unorganized service. Is not a place I will recommend personally. This is my second visit. Food isnt the best of the zone, isnt bad at all either. But waiting time for a table and the excessive amount of waiting time for food, definitely put this place out pf the possible places to visit. And if you want alcohol, unless is a beer, dont order any cocktail here, not even piña colada with vodka, waste of money!

Brunch for my better half's birthday was unbelievably delicious here! We enjoyed mimosas, banana nut pancakes, salmon eggs Benedict, eggs and sausage, and Frangelico flan for dessert. Everything was top notch and so tasty. Also, Karina is the best server ever. Stop looking! She's here, in Ekelekua! She made great suggestions from the menu, made sure our glasses were never empty, cleared our plates right away, and was so friendly! Thanks so much , Karina, for a memorable time! Will definitely come back to try the other plates on the menu!

This place is on a major highway but if you happen to be in the area definitely stop here for breakfast or brunch. The food is sooooo good. The chai tea was delicious and they have mimosas! The staff was super friendly and the place was very clean. I would go out of my way next time I'm in PR just to eat here again!

We found Ekelekua by accident. We were driving by on the way to the Rain Forest and got so lucky to stop in for brunch. The brunch menu is exceptional. Pancakes, eggs, potatoes and toast all excellent. The service was terrific and the young man who owns the restaurant was just so professional and so nice. He even went out of his way to give us excellent advice for were to go in the National Rain Forrest. Ekelekua is a true hidden gem that we highly recommend you try!

My group ordered the fish tacos, pork tacos, guava French toast, and chicken & waffles. We loved it all with the exception of the chicken & waffles. Great flavor, just a bit dry. If I ever make it back to PR, I’d definitely get the fish tacos!!

This place does not look like much from the outside but once you go in, it is an adorable little place with good breakfast food and even better hot beverages. My husband had the specialty coffee of the day and was “wowed” by it and ordered another one. The chai hot tea was seriously the best I ever had and the children after trying mine, liked it so much they needed to order some for themselves. There was a wait but it is worth the wait and we hope to visit again on our next visit to the area.
