If you want to try traditional Mexican dishes cooked right at the spot, this is a reference in the Zapopan downtown area. You won't regret any of the several choices in the menu. Great atmosphere, service and price, this little restaurant is a good choice to get great food!

Great typical Jalisco mexican food. Good quality and portion sizes. Menu doesn't offer a lot of variety but is enough if you are looking for traditional dishes. Waiters are always able to help you. Parking is not easy.

The food was great but we could not wait to leave. My daughter and I could not stop dancing under the table while eating. We were not the only ones. Our legs are loaded with bits. We go home to soak our legs in the pool.

Very nice traditional restaurant, decorated with Mexican antiques. The food is very good, loved the enchiladas and the pozole.

We visit this place frequently since we live in gdl. The place has a nice and reall mexican atmosphere with a lot of different colours and pictures arround the walls. The menu is short but all kind of meals are good. Wheter vegetarian or with meat, you will find something that surprises you. I prefer las gorditas and the pozole.... More

For me, Doña Gabina Escolástica is the best place to try traditional Mexican food (specifically from Jalisco). It offers a variety of dishes that haven't lost their original flavour; it's as if your grandmother was cooking dinner for you. I specially love the pozole, tacos dorados and my all time favourite: enchiladas. But every dish you order will be a... More

The real jalisciense cuisine in the most genuine way. If you really want to taste the real Mexican food this is definitely the place to go outside from Guadalajara.

For a full variety of mexican food, this is a must go to place! It has most of the traditional dishes, sopes, flautas, pozole, enchiladas....it is a picturesque type of restaurant and with a great turistic surrounding.

We love traditional "cenaduria" (supper spot) fare, and Doña Gabina knows how to prepare it. Good quality ingredients, good service, in the traditional atmosphere (be prepared to share a table). After trying other restaurants with the same style food, we have learnt to not waste our time, and go directly to Doña Gabina
