Recommend this restaurant by a local Argentinian bloke so figured it must be good… he knew the owner although what he didn’t know is the owner had retired apparently… Anyway the usual story with a restaurant in a resort a bloke hanging around outside the...front of the restaurant to attract customers in….he showed us to our table which we chose sitting inside as the outside area was fully full… when we left the inside area was fairly full as well, so a Fairly popular restaurant… They brought us out of complimentary canapé to start with our drinks… I went for the local black pudding and chorizo sausage entree’s, For the mains my wife chose calamari, and me the special steak was canary potatoes… very tasty although I ordered a medium rare it came out blue ( to English cooking standards ) thankfully they brought a barbecue out to cook a bit more if required, great idea… Lovely local red wine… For desert we went for Santiago cake which was amazing and very memorable as Id done the Camino Santiago three years ago… Service was good esp as our waiter was Italian and the wife’s Italian lol All in all a great night and our last night on Gran Canaria for dinner… Highly recommend this place…More

Very busy when we visited but still efficient service. The hamburgers were generous made of fine meat, but surprizingly bread was missing. Also tried grilled goat, well made but perhaps needs an aquired taste.

I don’t like to give bad reviews but I feel this one is justified. My partner had, what she hoped would be a simple, healthy salad. She chose one which came with leaves, nuts, cheese and a honey glaze. However, it was absolutely covered in...honey, to the point it was so unbelievably sweet and sickly. The menu had lots of pork options so I opted for the meatballs, expecting them to be tasty and fresh. The only way I can describe them is that I wouldn’t be shocked if they came from a tin. It’s a nice looking place but the food, on this occasion, was very poor.More

In a small village famous for its production of almonds we had a nice leisurely family lunch. Everything was very good value for money and the standout dish for me was the goat.

Sat outside in the sun with a wonderful view of the mountains and Tejeda. Our server was accommodating and kind. We ordered beer, cappuccino, a Coca Cola and local beer, calamari, salad, fried chicken, garlic prawns. Despite its good reviews, we found the food underwhelming....The salad portions were very generous, but the flavors lacking or the food overly oily. I loved that bread was served but it looked better than it tasted, as thought ti had been sitting out for some time (maybe it had). I would recommend for drinks and ambience, but not any of the items we ordered, maybe we could have chosen better.More

After a windy drive up through the mountains from Puerto del Morgan we found this little gem of a restaurant “Grill El Almendro” which made the drive well worth it. Tejeda is a small mountain village with excellent views of the village and valley. The...restaurant has an outside terrace which was great to sit out under the parasols in the sun to enjoy our meals. There is ample parking within the town car park located on the street below the restaurant. Our waiter spoke great English so we had no issues and as from our photos the food was great value and plentiful (maybe we should have shared!!!) but it was great value 4 meals, drinks and coffees for less than 50 euros. Especially, as they provided complementary warm bread and garlic butter before the meal.More

We ordered fried vegetables, chicken and a hamburger. The hamburger was served without a bun? Just the meat, onion and fries. This was kind of weird and tasty. Unfortunately fried chicken was really greasy. We couldn’t even finish the dish because of it. The location...is perfect and also the stuff were very kind. Would give it another try :)More

Another saved favorite from Trip Advisor and well worth the 1 1/2 drive through the mountains for lunch from San Agustin. Tejeda is a small mountain village with fantastic views from the restaurant and roads coming in and out the village. The restaurant has an...outside terrace which was nearly full when we got there but spaces inside should it have been full. There is ample parking outside and across the road, It’s certainly a meat lovers paradise with plenty of meats cooked on the grill. The menu is in several languages and our waitress spoke great English unlike our Spanish! Unfortunately they had sold out of my first choice......the Iberian Pork Skewers so I went for the pork chops (medium), Bev went for the fish (breaded). We chose to start with the gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns). The prawns came our sizzling and were complimented with lots of garlic and olive oil, lovely! The warm bread and garlic butter was also very good. The pork chops were large but perfectly cooked, they were accompanied by a baked potato and tomato whereas Bev’s fish was accompanied by a salad and fries. With four glasses of vino blanco del a casa (white wine) and a cappuccino the check came to €41......absolute bargain for such a local grill and freshly cooked local ingredients. We would highly recommend this grill if your driving through the mountains and fancy lunch/dinner in Tajeda.More
