Miss Mardi Gras? Awwwwww. Lucky for you, parades will be rolling in the Big Easy for St. Patrick’s Day and St. Joseph’s Day, and you'll get another chance to see Mardi Gras Indians doing their thing on Super Sunday. Check out the events here and then book a hotel close to the action at bestneworleanshotels.com.

While Mardi Gras Day (Fat Tuesday) is February 25 this year, the festivities actually begin much earlier. The fun begins on Twelfth Night, January 6, the official start of Mardi Gras, and around 70 parades follow in February. This month, come experience the traditions, eat a little king cake, and whet your appetite for what’s to come. Here’s what up in January.

What do you do when you’re waiting for a parade? Eat Popeye’s Fried Chicken or red beans and rice and listen to Mardi Gras music. Here are six of our favorites (we tried to narrow it down to five but couldn’t do it). Check them out on the YouTube links provided. BTW, they're not listed in any particular order. We love them all.
