Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
Walk off all that fabulous NOLA cuisine, with a long and easy hike through Audubon Park. The paths along the river offer unique kodak moments and if you are lucky - there will be a local event to tease your interests.
I had hesitated to go to the per(SISTER) exhibit, about incarcerated women serving life sentences in Louisiana, with my partner. However I knew all was right when he said afterwards “I don’t think I’ve ever learned more in such a short time”.
The interpretations by local artists of various SISTERS’ lives were beautiful and touching. The curator blended the right...
This library is in an historic building that provides a warm comfortable atmosphere for community meetings and the regular services of a public library. There is a book sale on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the carriage house behind the main building.
Prices seem reasonable. The staff seems cheerful and friendly. And it's nice to get a snack outside of the busy french quarter. Bathrooms arent new, but they're clean, which is a rarity in New Orleans.
This restaurant may be tiny (fully take advantage of outdoor seating) but the portions are not! Very, very kid friendly including kids menu options. Never expected the kids portions to be enough for adults so keep that in mind when you are ordering. The toast is so good! And the food was delicious. There was no need to add anything...
I must say I am more of an ice cream/gelato fan but Hansen’s was very tasty! The Strawberry shortcake was fabulous! I especially enjoyed that the taste was consistent to the end! Long lines not unusual but fun talking to people as you wait. A must do especially with kids.

After eating at a couple of the high priced supposedly upscale restaurants in or near the French Quarter we opted for this venue. The food and the atmosphere was fantastic. The owner, JoAnn answered the phone, took our reservation, greated us when we arrived came over to our table twice to some nice conversation, then took our picture with my...

Nice clean room. Reminded us of an IKEA showroom. Security & front desk employees were very very nice. Our visit was Monday, April 15, 2019 to Thursday, April 18, 2019. It was a short visit but will return ASAP.
