"Beautiful old church, great cross section of welcoming parishoners."

We attended mass there several times and throughly enjoyed the services. The choir does an excellent job and we appreciated their efforts. Built in 1844, it's in great shape. You may park on the church lot for services.
It had been several years, since we had stayed on Canal St in New Orleans, but my wife was attending a symposium at the Sheraton Hotel, so we were spending more time on Canal St, than usual. We set out on a beautiful December Monday, to head to the back of the French Quarter, and to a “Champagne shop,” on...
Came into town for business and always venture out to local places that weren’t around before we moved. This is a neighborhood gem and a must. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I’m very picky with my roast beef poboy and this place nailed it. I liked it better than Parkway. Just an overall great experience
If you are looking a wonderful, warm southern breakfast, then take a trolley down Canal Street to Betsy's Pancake House. This establishment had a delicious breakfast. Delicious hand ground hamburgers, salads, a variety of sandwiches, tasty boudin balls and delicious mussels! Definitely one of my favorite dining establishments. Located in a small shotgun that has a lot of ambience but can get crowded.
I read in a Lonely Traveler that this one of NOLA's hidden gems. I forced my friends to drive there on a particular evening and they were dubious about this restaurant once we arrived to the neighborhood. It is not in the prettiest of neighborhoods and the restaurant stood out like a sore thumb due to the blue exterior. But,...
This hotel is close to downtown but in a shady area near the city jail. Bail Bonds stores, hookers, and drug addicts are the norm for this area and motel. The rooms are basic and rife with vile odors. Unless you are looking to immerse yourself with crime, I suggest staying away. There are far better values out there
