National Hellenic Museum is really a highlight from my Chicago trip. Big museum - lots to see and learn. Amazing exhibition on current refugee crisis in Europe, and very often overlooked impact on Greece. Great floor with Greek American history. Very much recommended!
A popular brunch locale, Meli offers generous servings of delicious food made with fresh ingredients. I had a salad, but the table next to me had the breakfast bowls which looked (and seemed to be) delicious. Service was attentive and it has a hip atmosphere.

We got a box of about 8 different things, ate a few there, took others to go and ate later. Amazing bakery products. My favorite was the Bougatsa (lemon custard pastry) - wow!!!! Loved the cookies, especially the Melomakarona.
In the middle of this lovely grocery store is a tasteful bar with the best happy hour prices ever. They have a great selection of wines and delicious frozen drinks at outstanding prices. My beer was $2 a pint and the frozen drinks were $5. It was a relaxed atmosphere and they advertised live music Friday evening. Next to the...
Over the years I have stayed a number of times at Crowne Plaza. The hotel is convenient for UIC as well as for many nice restaurants in Greektown and Fulton street. The rooms are somewhat noisy, mine was located with several large ventilation fans right outside (3 floor) but ok for a city. Personnel in the restaurant (breakfast and bar...
