Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
This is an absolute joy. There was a need for a place with ample parking, a cafe, pool, clean bathrooms and showers for the kids, a play area and the location couldn’t be better.
A wonderful addition to the Santa Monica beach
Stayed next door at Sea Shore Motel so it was so easy to grab breakfast
Avocado toast and breakfast sandwich were excellent- the coffee is also killer and the fresh baked pastries too boot
This is a local must if you are wandering around Main St
Love, love, love the food at this Italian restaurant and I am not an Italian restaurant fan. So many favorites, octopus, citrus avocado salad, bruschella, burrata stracciata, pizza bread, paillard salad, Nutella bread pudding. Service excellent as is the atmosphere. Always on my list for a must visit!!!!
Had a reservation and was seated immediately. Server quickly provided us with drinks and suggestions for dinner. We tried a number of small plates and a couple of entrees. Everything was delicious. We shared all the plates. The venison was amazing!! Even had a couple of desserts that were sooo good. The service was excellent.
I have dined pretty much all over LA. This is my favorite restaurant. The food is always great; service is excellent; and the wine list is tight and focused on fascination at reasonable markup.
The establishment cares about its customers and does all it can to bring them a fine and unpretentious (authentic) experience.
Thank you, Upper West!
The rooms are clean and the property is fairly nice. The staff was very helpful and Jay at the front desk was so kind about shifting some things around to make an early check in happen for myself and a colleague.
The star of the show was the Bellman, Tano. He gives a great tour (the "Tano Tour") that he...
As mentioned by many travelers, this is a hidden gem and great place to stay. The attention to detail is what separates this hotel from many other places I have been to. The quality from the entrance to the reception to every detail in the room, in addition to the breakfast and 6-8 PM drinks; every aspect of the stay...
Casa Del Mar…what can I say? It is an incredibly elegant and sophisticated hotel with a restaurant on the beach where you can eat or just sit and have drinks. I can only imagine what it would be like during the day. It’s a good place to go just for the sake of going. Beware, it is pricey. I only...

What can I say, I'm from the absolute middle of the country, so oceans and beaches are foreign to me. And...it is probably fair to say that Hoosier is about as different from a Californian a character can be. But I will tell you, despite that difference, I was really so pleased with my experience in Santa Monica last week...
