This is just a HUGE forest. Rent the bike!
If you want to get lost in a forest, this is for you. The place is much much larger than what the map looks like. The paths are well maintained and the areas are quite pretty.
Just note that there is usually nothing of special interest while walking. It is a...
This wetland is great for flowers I. The spring , and bird watching , we saw some sort of greebs, some sort of surfscooters, black swans , some type of red winged blackbird. There are many cultivated parts to this park, but also protected wet lands. There are supposedly alligators here too that reach up to 2 meters and a small...
We decided to have a two days out of Shanghai and the closest option seemed to be Chongming. We so decided to visit and Dongtan Birds National Nature Reserve and we made a good choise. Quite environment for being just an hour outside Shanghai city center. Air is incredibly clean and fresh. Silence in most of the place. Every place...
Spent a delightful day at the Dongtan Natural Nature Reserve wetlands on Chongming Island. After walking to the subway, we got the bus and travelled through the tunnel to cross to Changxing Island, next crossed a long bridge to Chongming Island and finally a taxi to our destination, the nature Park where we hired bikes. Away from the hectic shoppers,...
Chongming island is a lovely place by herself. Chongming is just across the river from Shanghai like New Jersey to Manhattan.
To come here for a quiet weekend is refreshing.
You can try the Chongming Rice Wine and definitely a new experience.
We were looking with my wife for a weekend of relaxation, fresh air, and good food, we got it right!
The hotel is new, room are spacious, excellent service, all the employees from top to bottom went beyond our expectations, nice, friendly and on top of that professionals.
We didn't had the chance to eat in the Chinese restaurant but...
Great hotel for a stay with dogs. Hot Pot was complimentary for club room, which was nice for a snack. We booked the twin king room expecting 2 king beds but they are actually queen beds, which is a bit small for 1 adult + kid per bed. Staff was friendly and helpful.
We stayed in their individual bungalow (rooms 61XX). The rooms are nice and secluded but are quite outdated. I imagine their private decks would be nice in the fall but beware, the mosquitos could eat you alive.
Overall, the facilities are nice (lobby, gym/Game Center, restaurant) and the complex is nice and peaceful, but the bungalows are dated.
Hotel is a little old but the room is big. We were at XinChong Hotel for Shanghai Ironman 2019. Although it’s a bit far from Mingzhu lake but it’s only 3km (taxi 15 CNY) away from Starbucks, KFC, Pizza Hut and bakeries. The lady staff at the reception speaks english well.
Good breakfast spread. We also tried the Chinese restaurant and the food is good.
