This is off the beaten path because no ody goes there. We were the only people there and apparently few people visit the museum even though it is in the Tijuca forest and close to a waterfall where many people swim.
The coolest thing of this property is the age of the home and how well kept the property house...
You need a car or a bicycle to access this view point in National Park Tijuca.
The road is very winding but worth it!
It’s very close to the Vista Chinesa view point, so we did both.
The location was used by King Dom Pedro II during the Empire. He often rested in this view point hence the table.
Os Esquilos is the perfect place to go when you feel like getting out of the city for a day. The food is good and prices are fair. It’s a nice place to go with kids since they can run around and explore the garden. Before or after lunch you can do some hiking in the Tijuca Natural Forest. Absolutely...

I did the big hike at the park, tired after I think it was 6hours of walk, found this restaurant just out side of the entrance to the park. I am not sure if because it was Saturday? But they had a band playing amazing music! Food was awesome too. Totally recommend!
